Dragon Ball Discussion Thread

But what's the fun in seeing your favorites being badly written, and participating in badly choreographed, badly animated fights? I was never a big DBZ fan, but the characters were generally fun and the fight scenes were cool. Even if you throw the last bit of common sense Dragon Ball had out the window, Super's anime port is just boring 99% of the time.

I never said Super anime was good by any means. But power levels being plot based than having any meaning anymore isn't what makes it that way. The power levels being as relevant as the plot needs them could make for interesting things. But then you get Krillin yell at 18 for letting her guard down, and then getting koed, and Tien not being useful at all, and Vegeta punching Botamo for like half the fight for no reason at all. Or Gohan able to carry Botamo across the arena with punches, even though EVERY other time Botamo is fighting Magetta ends up coming out to help, except the one time he's needed. Or spirit sword...Oh god spirit bomb sword why did you exist.

But on the flip side, you get the Roshi episode, and you get Kale wrecking Goku. Or 17 just being one of the best parts of the tournament so far.

Cause he used the energy to revive him. He was dead, the energy didn't suddenly boost Roshi to full power and make him unhurt from being beaten on relentlessly by birdman. It simply brought him back to life. So yea, don't get what you're even trying to get at. Goku had to even help Roshi over to the area he was laying at when Frost attacks him.

Frost was toying with him, Roshi isn't stronger than Frost, but Roshi wasn't stronger than ANY of the characters he beat. Roshi didn't have the energy or stamina to repeat anything he did prior. And was still able to get licks in on Frost while worn out, and having his arm crushed. Frost is a terrible fighter, plain and simple.

Glad there's no evidence of Roshi being weakened after his revival. If anything the opposite was shown.

What licks did he get on Frost and what damage did Frost receive during his scuffle against Roshi.?

Besides having to be nearly carried by Goku, sitting there resting, said to be tired out, said that Frost was going after the weakened people and that's why he was attacking Roshi.

😕 The first counter attack when Frost was about to end it, and was actually pushing Frost back. I never said he was able to hurt him. But that Roshi was losing cause Roshi was not anywhere near top of his game. He didn't try the electric move to keep Frost in place, he missed with Mafuba because his arm was wrecked by Frost, But even while weakened, and tortured to the point he was hardly able to move while having just fought a battle against a much better fighter and being completely worn from that battle previously, he was still able to mount a considerable defense.

He didn't mount any defense though since Frost was playing with him. He admitted he was holding back tremendously. Why don't peeps in the anime section understand what holding back means?

Holding back his strength.... And still gets pushed back. He's not exactly blitzing Roshi. He can't kill him so, he can't blast him or hit him as hard as he can. That doesn't mean Roshi should have been able to hit him at all. If Roshi had pulled that type of move on ssj Vegeta, it wouldn't have moved him at all. It would be like Future Trunks when he's wailing on 17 and 18 and they aren't even moving. The fact Frost was about to end it, and Roshi was able to knock him back, and push him back means something... Because we have seen what people who are completely outclassed can do to people. Vegeta's punched were nothing to Cell. Piccolo couldn't do anything to Cell after he had eaten a ton of people.

And Roshi did nothing to Frost. I think we looked at two different fights.

Now I'm wondering... How would Tien with a Toriyama handjob do against say Dyspo, in a game of strategy?

Almost anyone should beat Dyspo at a game of strategy. He doesn't seem the brightest. 😆

So a Tien that Toriyama actually wanted to use.. Would school the speedster.

Frost destroys Roshi, Krillin and Tien combined.

Roshi was in such bad shape he needed a sensu to stay alive. And he still almost beat Frost alone.

But man, Vegeta keeps finding ways to lose. That may be his most pathetic defeat yet. 😆

Yes, Recoome could give a Goku that is holding back all of his power a fight...easily. Especially if he is a friend. Once Goku wanted Roshi out, he finished him with a single hit. Do you know the definition of holding back?
And under those circumstances, you believe current Goku would comment that Recoome's power was amazing and that he enjoyed fighting him? By that logic, in theory, Goku could make similar comments about Hercule and even farmer with a shotgun.

Yeah, Goku finished Roshi with a charged up kamehameha. A significantly weaker albeit suppressed version of Goku finished Recoome with a random elbow to the gut. The only way your logic flies is if you believe current base Goku hasn't gotten much stronger than his days on Namek (meaning you are the one arguing that Goku is weak). And that's just crazy.😕. Current Goku is lightyears beyond believing Recoome level ki is amazing.

The whole "friend" argument is bonkers too when we take into account is Goku is well capable of oneshotting even ordinary humans without killing them. No need for the kamehameha. Just finger flick Roshi in the back of the head or random neck chop him as we saw Vegeta do to Trunks in the Buu saga.

YouTube video

-Frost: You seem very tired ( @ 0:07)

-Roshi: I get it. You're going after weakened warriors one by one like this. Your methods are as crooked as ever (@0:49- 0:53).

Were Frost and Roshi lying?

How was Gohan's punches even able to push him when we're told that all of the punches get transported to another dimension? Every previous fighter who has punched him weren't able to phase him at all.😕

Handjob Tien takes advantage of his enhanced eyesight and uses the multiform technique to keep track of Dypso's movements, solar flares him and finish him with a mafuba of his own. 👆

MAAFUUUUUBAAA!! 💃

Which Frost reversed off of Roshi, even though he had no way of knowing what it is or how it works, much less develop a technique to reverse it. Tien, HE could do something like that, but Frost? Is he even a martial artist?

Oh yeah lol
