Jiren is a hippie.

That explains the big ass pupils.

Some translations for episodes 123-126:

The title for ep. 125 heavily implies that Toppo WILL become a full-fledged Hakaishin. At this point I'll be kind of disappointed if he doesn't... ermm

Ep 129. Jiren and Toppo fuse.

Any guesses what Jiren meant by this..?

I like how Goku just assumed he wants to be stronger, and that's the only reason he's fighting. As if nothing else can be fought for except to get stronger.

As for what he wants, it's probably something along the lines of peace so he doesn't have to fight. And it takes the Dragon Balls. Because Jiren actually showed some emotion when Vegeta said he was going to take the Dragon Balls.

That much is obvious.

But what does it actually mean (If anything), to want something beyond strength?

The only thing that fits that discription is Zeno. So what does Jiren expect to do about Zeno?

That's what I'm guessing as well.

Above all, Jiren strives for peace... And not just peace within his own universe, mind you, but peace across ALL universes. However, he's also a realist, and knows that true peace cannot ever be achieved through brute power alone... Something like that is only possible by way of the Super Dragon Balls.

...But it's also pretty hard to ever really be at peace when you know there's a petulant brat out there who oversees the hole of creation, and can end it all on a childish whim. /shrug

The best would be, if Jiren meant something beyond physical world, a deeper realization of himself, a higher, real spiritual awareness.

Jiren isn't selfish enough to use the wish on himself...

I'm sad that we will probably never get a real motivation from anime Jiren that we do from manga Jiren.

The anime will likely give us *something* in that regard. But yeah, the manga will definitely flesh-out his motivations a lot more... And that's one of the reasons why the manga tends to be SO much better than the anime overall.

Yea, it actually takes the time to flesh out characters, and make things make more sense. Knowing that Jiren doesn't want to destroy the other universes makes a lot more sense to why he doesn't fight and just sits back until someone he is needed to fight comes out.

I've been sort of curious why Jiren hasn't eliminated more combatants? For example, he could have eliminated Kale with his energy beam, but detonated it before she was knocked out of the arena. Same with Goku. Same with Vegeta.

iirc, the only characters Jiren has actually eliminated thus far are Maji Kayo and Hit... Both of whom he seemed to have a personal/moral issue with, which makes sense from a Pride Trooper standpoint: one is a sadistic shapeshifting jelly-thing, and the other kills for money.

Makes you wonder if there are any deeper motives behind *why* he didn't/hasn't eliminated the others, when he could have very easily done so..? mmm

Jiren also said there is no purity in fighting from Vegeta... he probably also have the same thinking for Goku (whom he also said he can never beat him, probably also because of that same reason).

Probably because doing so is basically killing them. And I bet Jiren is completely against such a thing.

Goku and Vegeta are fighting for fundamentally different reasons though to be honest. Vegeta might be prideful and arrogant but he's not fighting just to get stronger, he's not fighting to just fight. He's fighting to save his race, and his family, and his universe. To Goku saving the universe is secondary that's why he went straight for Jiren and Toppo.

Vegeta has a thrill for battle, and we've seen him go from killing anyone weaker than him, to thinking nobody can be stronger than him, and letting weaker beings power up without a second thought, to actively facing stronger beings without hesitation but he doesn't fight just to fight like Goku does.

They are definitely different and Vegeta is also more of family man than Goku. He also thinks about other things.

Which is why it makes what Jiren said nonsense.

Mabbe Vegeta's new form is called SuperSaiyanBlueFamilyMan or SuperSaiyanBlueDad.

.

Goku's pure allright. Pure like a child, or an animal. That's why Devilman couldn't explode him with his own evil, because he just doesn't have it.

I doubt Jiren takes issue with him from an ethical standpoint.
