I'm almost wondering if Goku orchestrated this as a means of 'resurrecting' Merus?
If Moro has made a complete back-up of Merus(as indicated by the gem), perhaps Vegeta can pop-in with Forced Spirit Fission and separate Merus from Moro. Maybe that was Goku's plan all along, and why he purposely allowed Moro to return to full power..?
Would probably be *the* best way to reconcile Goku's stupidity here, if he essentially allowed Moro to powerup just to bring Merus back.

No, because he is still Moro. It means he is an awesome being if capable to copy someone like Merus, but he is the same Moro, the same being. And to copy Merus and not being blown apart, so he can handle such pressure... it means Moro had so much left in him to handle such awesome power and not being blown apart at all. If that is true, MUI Goku ain't handling Moro. Of course i don't know if writers think the same way, but Moro being in danger because he copied Merus,... nah.

-Moro gains Merus's power by reattaching the arm he grabbed Merus's neck with a few chapters ago.
-"Mero" and MUI Goku fight for a bit, and Goku doesn't have any real trouble with him.
-We then find out that Moro's body cannot handle the power of an Angel, and starts "deforming" into a massive, bulky form.
-Goku continues slapping this deformed Moro around, and the Earth itself inextricably absorbs/consumes him, ftw... Or so we think.
-Cut to the final pages, and we see that Moro has actually become the planet itself. Planet earth = planet Moro now.

The arc just needs to end, ffs. It has already drug out WAY too long at this point, and it sounds like we're still bound to get a few more chapters before it wraps up. Toyotaro is basically just throwing in a bunch random elements from other stories in some kind of weird fanfic, just to keep Moro relevant for as long as possible: from Freeza, to the Androids, to Cell, to Boo, to Zamasu, to f*cking Rildo... Enough is enough. 😘
On that note, it's odd to me that most of the haxx hasn't even come from Moro himself, but rather, from a b-string supporting villain(ie. 7-3.) Without 7-3's copying abilities(which are retardedly unbounded), Moro would have been done chapters ago.
The only decent thing that really came from this chapter is confirmation that

Goku can transform straight from base into MUI at will now. So he *has* fully perfected the form.
...Though that also doesn't sit well with me if I'm being honest(as it could imply that even greater transformations are inbound), but that's neither here nor there.
At least the artwork is good, if nothing else. /shrug
I was just commenting yesterday how he absorbed Merus power and wasn't blown apart... but they think of that, his body can't handle that, so that's cool... but Moro isn't finished. From the leaks i've seen MUI Goku vs angelic Moro were just going back and forth, nothing showing MUI Goku dominating him or the other way around.

Moro's body can't handle the power of an Angel, so he acquired a suitable 'body' that evidently can: the earth itself.But Whis also notes that if they destroy the planet, the entire galaxy will be destroyed by the detonation.
Calling it now: Vegeta uses Forced Spirit Fission to separate Moro from the earth(#Asspull). Then Moro is either destroyed by Merus's power, or Goku kills him.

Yeah, I too believe we are quickly heading towards that direction.
I wouldn't be shocked if we are going to somehow have a Ssj MUI form in the future.
If you think about it, we would have:
- Mortal power: base form + Ssj forms
- GoD power: SSG + SSB + KK
- Angel power: MUI + God knows what...
It would make sense in the power palette of Super.
And it would make Goku almost basically the strongest "human-shaped, physical thing" that punches and kicks in fiction at that point...
Way to end Super with a SsjMUIKK Vegetto/Gogeta fighting an ultimate evil Angel... 😆
