Future Trunks never stopped fighting at any point like Gohan did. He didn't have the luxury to with his timeline being what it was. That said, I liked his "super saiyan rage" form as well as the spirit sword thing because it looked cool and I guess out of bias for the character, whom we never get to see that often anyway. Gohan on the other hand is always "there", but just doesn't fight half the time.
Which makes Gohan suddenly becoming as strong as he needs to be again the next time Tori decides to use him feel so much more shoehorned than any other saiyan character.
I'll give you that on Roshi, though Buu I can at least understand to some degree since he's a magical creature and never trained before in his life prior; not that it mattered since Buu ended up not being used for the tournament of power anyway.
Gohan hasnt been cool since forever....I cant really give a phuck about him.....
What bothers me is that Vegeta hasnt beaten a single opponent that is worth mentioning (outside of god Toppo) through out Super and Z while he is constantly getting power ups.....at this point its safe to say he will never beat any major villain...

Android 21 is canon now I guess, as she apparently makes an appearance in the film. She was a Toriyama created character to begin with though, so her ability to be canonized was never really in doubt. I didn't want her over Cell though, but since we learned earlier that the OG Cell wasn't gonna be in this anyway, it's fine.

In a way though I consider it a blessing in disguise that this ripoff abomination isn't "Perfect Cell but red".
Still, this new one feels like another old late game DBZ movie monster that probably won't even have the original voice, let alone talk; like Bio-Broly, Janemba, Hirudegarn, and so on. I thought we were past this.
The new Piccolo looks pretty cool at least, yeah.
Imagine if like Frieza's 2nd or 3rd form was Toriyama's favorite, and therefore when Frieza came back in Resurrection F, it was one of those forms but golden.
None of his forms were as ugly as Semi Perfect Cell at least. The final form always makes sense to do regardless, but this isn't the OG Cell, so... srug
Gohan having that sounds cool. He needed more to stand out besides Kamehameha.

Apparently the name of this movie is Super Hero because Toriyama forgot the name of the current series is Dragon Ball Super, so you thusly have Super in the title twice.
facepalm I know it'll make a lot of money like any Dragon Ball movie, but I hope it doesn't sell as much as DBS Broly and the like. Cell fans particularly need to give Toriyama all the backlash he deserves. Even Gohan fans to some extent, as he's not allowed to defeat a new villain, only a ripoff of a villain he previously beat as a poor imitation of the Cell Games.
