He does have a point, how did Beerus even maintain his strength when all he does is eat and sleep? We never see him train, like ever.
I suppose the reveal of Ultro Ego was an attempt to fix that plothole:

I think my answer to that post was sound, but suppose we can go with that too.

Suppose I should've saw the outcome for the above death battle... Another L for SSJ4 fans.

Speaking of, thinking back on GT again, something that occurred to me earlier, Cell in that universe should've just been allowed to absorb Super 17 for him to compete with SSJ4. It would've made sense if Gero was still doing the whole build power upon existing power to the best possible degree.

The only reason I can imagine 17 got the role that he got there was because the GT creators for whatever reason thought he was more popular/marketable than Cell, so they gave him that weird fusion of himself. DBS at least had the excuse of 17 being actually alive though, and thus him joining universe 7 for the ToP.

A funny topic I saw earlier asked who was worse between Super 17 and Cell Max... While I personally hate Max more for as disappointing as he was to Cell fans like myself, an interesting point I saw brought up is you can at least clearly say it is a 100% different character, while Super 17 in GT warped an existing character.

Super 17 at least had some cool moves on his own to speak of though like that electro eclipse bomb, while Cell Max ironically had none (ironic because it's someone with Cell in their name). They both suck though at the end of the day.

From what I understand, when you become a GoD, youre given a special kind of power above regular mortals, as well as becoming ageless, with Beerus said to have been around for eons or so. In other words, if one becomes a GoD, they never rust until they decide to retire and that GoD power is passed on to someone else.

I kind of like this answer, it's like the Twilight Zone episode about the pool champ who's fated tp defend his title with supernatural skill until someone beats him.

Would explain why Beerus was so bent on finding this Super Saiyan God, the truth is he's bored of the job but can't quit until he's beaten.

Yeah, pretty much. Beerus is basically what Goku would be if Goku had no one left in his realm of power worthy of fighting him. They're both self-serving and all that.

On a side note, saw complete DVD/Blu-ray collections of all of Z, GT, and Super at a Walmart earlier in the week. GT is just one complete package, while Z is composed of three different sets (includes filler stuff too like the Garlic Jr saga, so I assume just regular Z instead of Kai which I prefer anyway far as the music), but since Super's still new in comparison, more of its discs were sold separately instead of a big bundle. Any of that's still a better deal than the three episodes per VHS tape thing I had going back in the day though, which I eventually had to give my old collection away aside from a few of the films.

Speaking of, there was even one DVD that was a collection of a few of the different Z movies (Return of Cooler, Android 13, Broly 1, and Bojack Unbound, which is movies 6 to 9). With that in mind though, you'd think there would be one that was just a collection of all the Z movies and such, with how old they are. They're mostly the only things I would care to rewatch now as opposed to an entire saga, with the exception of the obvious worst Z films and shit like Resurrection F and Super Hero that I would never watch again.

tl:dr

Sorry my verbosity was too much for you.

RoF disappointed, but kind of grew on me once I realized it nailed Freeza's character.

If you can't outfight them, shoot them in the back, and blow up the planet. Which WORKED, the fact is Freeza WON, if not for Whis.

Anyone here actually play FighterZ?

I foolishly paid for a premium version years back and then got turned off when DLC UI Goku was everywhere, and felt trapped in a "Pay to Win" scheme.

Android 21 (the lab coat version and final DLC) was ironically what broke the game; not UI Goku, either Broly, or anything that came before. Surprising too with how balanced the game remained until she came along.

Oh, UI Goku was apparently broken at release, but later got nerfed. Not her though, at least not sufficiently.

End of the gotenks filler arc. All in all, I think this was my favorite super arc

BT4 is coming!!

So I saw, but will wait to see more of it before I consider. The Budokai/Tenkaichi brand name being used for nostalgia, with expected DBS content.

Could be interesting if they go back to what-if transformations. Kinda doubt it though.

Regardless, the game has a tall order to fill with the roster, after the one Tenkaichi 3 had, which was basically every character with a name that you could think of at the time. King Cold was the most interesting oddball addition of BT3, although there was also Babidi and such.

Expecting that kind of roster again would be setting yourself up for disappointment I think, but I guess it wont be as limited a roster as something like FighterZ still.

BT3 had 161 playable characters.

BT4 will prolly have 30 and you will have another 10-15 As DLC for the price of the game...haermm

Just the usual rip off...

That's because Americans are more than willing to fall for all those dumb microtransactions 😛

They fell for Dragon Ball Super Hero while in Japan it mostly flopped as nature intended, so yeah.

Can't wait to see a gimped Budokai Tenkaichi roster in the name of "balancing" and better online. Maybe the playable giants will be left intact at least (Oozaru's, Hirudegarn, etc) so Cell Max can make his playable debut in all his abominable glory.
