1. It is the sequel to two of the most important and beloved anime of all time(DB and DBZ).
2. It's canonically a sequel to the manga(more of this in a bit).
3. It spends too much time recapping plot points from two movies that are frankly a lot more enjoyable than the show proper(prettier, better paced, original).
4. It is poorly animated leading to the idea that production was extremely rushed. This is also the same guys who do One Piece, which has a very meh anime to begin with.
5. Despite looking like it was rushed, the pacing of the show itself could not be more sluggish. We spent almost an entire episode watching Oolong and Beerus playing rock-paper-scissors. Nothing interesting was done with Oolong and the whole thing could be skipped were it not for the canon bits. This slow pacing is already hard to accept for something like One Piece, which is actually rather slow itself, but for Dragon Ball? A story that is literally built around fast pace? It's like cancer.
6. The foundation is lousy. In Japan an anime is supposed to advertise the manga. Fans get drawn in and then read the manga to know what happens(think the western love of Naruto) next in the story. They then turn back to the anime when it catches up to certain points to see their favorite scenes animated. DBS is bucking this trend because it is a multi-media project. The manga is meant to advertise the anime. Problem is that the anime could, effortlessly, cover all the manga material in a flash and get to the new and interesting parts of the story people wanna see. Doing so would render the manga worthless and no one would ever by it. So the show is forced to move sluggishly for the manga to gain ground. Conversely the show holds back the manga because it has to go super fast in order to stay ahead. Goku and Beerus didn't even get a proper fight in the manga(not really) and they skipped almost all of Freeza. Then there is the whole argument over which is or should be canon.
7. The manga is frankly so much better as entertainment. Despite being too fast at times, it feels like a sequel to Dragonball that the manga deserved. Many, myself included, would rather just read it and forget the show exists entirely. I'm not even keen on seeing stuff like Goku vs Frost animated because the fights are sluggish, stilted, and nothing like the original DBZ which looked grittier, felt faster, and was overall more enjoyable.
Basically if I never saw another episode of Super I'd be more or less okay with that. It's not even enjoyably bad, just easily ignored.
