Message to Ushgarak (in regards to EU / Versus section): Hey man, listen, we appreciate your efforts trying to moderator these boards, but we all (well, all the people I've talked to about it, at least) find it silly for you to keep locking these threads because they are "in the wrong section." For one, a lot of members who post in EU/Versus don't go to other sections to see threads. Also, a lot of sections you lock for being related to movies isn't really true given we are also taking into account the novels / other "literature" work - so I'm not really sure it's suppose to go in the movies section anyway. Even then, you could make a new topic for us to discuss there instead of completely locking a healthy discussion over Star Wars then leaving. Likewise, threads that have some pages off off-topic shouldn't be closed either. If they aren't people bitching at eachother, it's generally going to create a closer community and help bond members closer to eachother. Also, when you remove posts that contain a lot of text under virtue of it being "off-topic," which means we spent a lot of work on it simply for it to be removed in a couple seconds, can you at least send it to us in PMs or something so it isn't loss for ever? Once again, we / I appreciate your moderation but some things are making these boards less interesting / engaging then they were before you came along.

The rules of how the threads work are clearly posted for everyone to see. This is NOT the area for films- it never was, and at no point is it ever intended to be so.
Plenty of threads have been moved over from this section to the relevant film section. Sometimes they are instead closed for various reasons (generally because the content there wasn't very conductive to a straight move)- the same topic can then always be re-opened in the right area.
If you are using old EU material as part of the discussion then, as the rules again clearly state, its Legends nature should be made clear in the OP. In any case, though, there is no chance the most recent thread could seriously be considered anything but a film thread.
Please respect the rules of this community which, particularly in the Star Wars areas, has existed for many years, long before many of you came here. You do not have the right to remake it as you like. There is no 'before I came along'. I was here before all of you and helped create this place.
Off-topic threads are always subject to closure. The average thread is not a random social thread- that is what the social thread itself is for. Again., this is a long established rule. Off-topic threads are confusing and irritating for newcomers and encourage a poor mentality.
Recent off-topic thread were closed because they were reported as such, so please do not pretend you speak for the whole community.
The only posts that are ever removed are socking posts or grossly offensive ones. You are mistaken if you think general content has been removed in this way.
In short- you are effectively guests in someone else's house. Follow the rules. That is part of the conditions for you posting here.
This is the last time I will reply to such matters in the threads. Any moderator queries should be made by PM.

Actually, I know I said I was done, but just one more thing- I don't think I have closed more than half a dozen threads in the last year or so around here for being off-topic, and as I said, even then it was only when they were being reported. It's not really a rule that's being super-enforced here like it would be in the GDF. Generally it's only needed if the thread has become a problem of some sort, or if multiple threads are becoming the same bickering grounds between people.
I actually appreciate the killing of ES2-Quanchi dialogues but other than that, I don't think a thread that consists of movie characters only should be removed as the PT is also a part of the EU and like Ant said, if we want to take into account the non-movie material to analyze things, this is the only place for it.
'PT is part of the EU' is not really an argument I can accept bearing in mind the 'please make it clear if it is Legends' thing.
Whilst if you are bringing in canon non-movie material... that can be done just as well in the movie areas. The fact that it describes not only movie characters but a specific movie scene and discussing specific movie outcomes really makes its placement beyond doubt.
Remember, as the sticky thread at the top points out, this isn't really the EU area any more- it's the Books, Comics and Games area. Yes, it would be better if we could rename it. Likewise there is meant to be a specific mod around here but we can;'t make it happen as it stands.
I thought SoR had a very good dramatic build up, and I think Lana and Theron are well-developed characters, which is unusual in both an MMO and an expansion.
But- and I am not even much of a Revan fan- from a plot perspective, I think they wasted Revan's dramatic potential. The whole thing was just a giant waste of time in the end. I don't think they should have bothered bringing a big deal like Revan back if he wasn't going to have a significant plot impact upon the setting- all the worse now that they've now done it twice, with this one meant to be making up for the last one.
If Revan's dead, he should have gone out making a difference, to cap off his story. Even if they just made up some arbitrary macguffin that made the Emperor unbeatable, and Revan goes out destroying the macguffin and passes the anti-emperor torch to the players- even something as simple as that would have made his presence in the game seem worthwhile.
Or else he's coming back again, but it starts to become ridiculous at some point.
So in many ways the Prelude was better than the actual story.
Honestly, after Kotor, every time something new with Revan was released, it harmed the character but the novel was building up to something decent if not good I guess. The Foundry wasn't horrible as well as it at least connected his story's climax in SWTOR to the novel. With SoR though, the damage was irreversible. 🙁
SoR gave Revanite faction a purpose and shaped it into a major force. This was a step in the right direction. However, my complaint is that this expansion was too short. BioWare had a golden opportunity to make the most out of Revan's return but it have been wasted unfortunately.
Same is true for the novel. A talented author could write a wonderful story featuring Revan and his exploits and transform it into a trilogy because their was so much to tell. Unfortunately, this did not happen either.
Heck, I can write a much better novel then what we got.
It was way too short, yeah. Revan failed to create a presence or represent any kind of threat.

The Prelude to Revan was pretty decent. I liked that and the start of the Rishi missions where you're doing covert stuff. I also liked the class mission. Basically everything except Revan himself was good.
Sorry Ant but Revan was a lame badguy. All you do is run into generic bases and chew through troops like you do with literally every other villain. It's all completely stock. Kill X number of Revanites, woo-ee. Also giving the list of all your super-secret spies and saboteurs to a group of pirates is completely idiotic. What the hell was the point of giving them that information? Nothing in his plan calls for them to have that. Also despite them possessing such vital info he has no problems telling them to go get bent. They're pirates you dipshit, they're just gonna sell that info to someone. Telling Theron where your final plan was going down was also dumb.
The evil split personality plotline is still absolute dogshit.
I guess the real reason I completely failed to care at all might just be because I think the gameplay has become way more monotonous and boring. Everything was ridiculously easy. I had sub-par equipment and I still steamrolled everything. Companions are a joke. They can do any task and all their stats are auto-leveled. My companions have way higher stats than I do. Even on tank-spec and with an inferior weapon Scourge has a higher damage stat than my DPS. Gear is entirely cosmetic, there's no point in paying attention to anything they're doing. And no point in paying any attention to what you're doing because you're so overpowered and the companion can heal ridiculously well.
They've also taken a few skills from the Jedi Knight that makes combat more thoughtless and just mashing the same 5 attacks over a over.
Also the Lana romance is just a bunch of random and frankly inappropriate flirting and then you're in love. I guess that's just Bioware but man did it feel hollow. It reminded me of the RotH romance where the girl seemed totally uninterested until the end where she just seems obligated to give you a kiss because you saved everyone. With her dad standing right there looking at her like "honey, I know they're creepy just give them something so they'll leave". It reminded me that Bioware sucks at romance.
Theron was a whiny *****.
