Who ordered construction of clone troops?

Lets by hypothetical, and say that Dooku was truthful in what he said. If Qui Gon was aware of the corruption, why would he give them the forces they need to rule?

I agree there are clues that point to it, but I'm unsure as of this point.

Like I said, he'd tell Qui-Gon what he needed to hear. Maybe he told him that the army was to protect the Jedi and the innocent billions from the corrupt Senate that will inevitably go out of control?

Dooku has a way with words, thats one of his main strengths.

Interesting theory indeed. Perhaps it could have been Qui'Gon, I once believed it to be him, though now I believe it was Dooku using the name of Sifo Dyas as he ordered the clone army. Who knows. Maybe we'll find the real answer to this in Episode 3.

dooku ordered the clones.

dooku is upset at the jedi order because they were blinded to see darth maul.

and the result was tradgec in losing quigon dookus apprentice.

in between ep1 and ep2 dooku leaves the order and joins forces with the dark lord of the sith..

palpatine couldve had dooku go to kamino and place a order of clones but use the syfo-dyas name.

and also dont forget palpatine will be the emporer in ep3 and he is the dark lord known as sidious.

instead of just having the clones back up the republic he makes the clones turn on the jedi and palps will make himself emporer.

But remember OB1 said to Yoda "Syo dyas ordered the creation of the clones...i had the impression he died earlier than that" (or something close to it) So i think the Jedi knew who Syfo-Dyas is. Unless Dooku stole his identity after leaving the Jedi Order and ordered the clones with orders from Sidious.

Sorry, this theory is still too ridiculously shot full of holes to be vaguely credible.

The Clones were not ordered until after Qui-Gon was dead.

i have a thought...diaz was a real jedi...maybe replacing maul...then dooku kills diaz..replacing him. so diaz could have made the order..died to the hands of dooku...or assasinated by dooku....and padmes asassination attempts were from dooku/palpitine..because she was there to vote AGAINST a developement of an army. and the emperor NEEDS an army. just my thoughts..i have no proof.

He probably was a jedi, and Dooku took his name when ordering the clone army.

There are only two persons who could've ordered the construction of these clone troopers: Sifo-Dyas or, by any chance, Count Dooku (a.k.a. Lord Darth Tyranus). And the reason for this is because Jango Fett said that he was recruited by a man called Tyranus on one of the moons of Bogden. Is there really such a planet as Bogden? Let me know what you think. i remember some other fans saying somthing abought the lost 20.

if it wasnt dokku or palpatine who placed the order for the army maybe one of the lost 20 jedi did.

if you look at dooku he left cause he was upset at the jedi for somthing( cant remember) but this made him turn to sidious aka palpatine.

dooku was one of the lost 20 jedi so since dooku is with sidious maybe he hired one of them to go to kamino and use the stfo dyas name.

and another intresting thing is that in tpm we never saw or heard of syfo dyas wich is ten years be4 aotc. so im thinking that syfo dyas was killed inbetween ep1 and ep2.

Whoa interesting i rember seeing at teh end of the bounty hunter game Count dooku asking if jango will allow count to make a clone army of him and jango agrees *hits bounty hunter with a slegde hammer* Why must this game be so good yet gives you a false idea of what happened O why!!
