Or, more to the point, it was just something the filmmakers did not go into much detail about. The general idea that Jango was some sort of super-Jedi killer is not really shown by that one bit compared to everything else we see.And Vader being Luke's father wasn't complex; the whole Original Trilogy was very simple indeed and all the better for it.
Always look for a simple answer.
Ok, so you've shot down one of my points...care to try at the other three?
'Cause if not I'm still right. 😆
We have never seen Dooku use a blaster, nor does it seem in his character to do so. So if Dooku killed someone, they'd have lightsaber wounds, therefore giving himself away to the council.there are other ways than blasters and sabers, Dooku showed he is strong wioth the darkside and uses it in hisfighting and all
Yeah, so if he was force choked the Jedi would have launched an investigation into how Syfo was killed, and they would have a lead in that it was done by someone with the power of the force. This would lead them right to Sidious before he was ready.
Blaster wounds, on the other hand, could send them down a completely wrong path...
ok, my last post was merely speculation for amusement and not to be taken seriously. I've already voiced my opinion that we've had enough alluded to in order to assume he was dead and someone took his name for Kamino. I don't even think his death was connected to all this. Jedi do die. He just took a name from a whole list he's got in his head, maybe he respected him while he was still Jedi, but it doesn't matter. He's dead. Dooku used his identity. It is that simple.
who says we assumed that? he may have been thinking of leaving, and was approached by Sidious. They could have sliced the archives from on offsite location as well. but the point is, he may have left after. No one said he wasn't.
And I just found a line in the script that ends this silly debate: when asked who was the host for the clones, Lama Su replies: "A bounty hunter called Jango Fett. We felt a Jedi would be the perfect choice, but Sifo-Dias hand-picked Jango fett himself." So Dooku was in fact using Dias as an alias. Since we know Tyrannous hired Jango. And Dooku is Tyrannous.
dunno, I'll give it a quick look in the novel, that one IS +/- canon
oh, another thing, you can't slice the Archives from another place:
"Only a Jeedai could have erased those files"
EDIT: indeed, the novel says on pagea 211:
"A bounty hunter named jango Fett," Lama Su offered without any hesitation. "We felt that a Jedi would be the perfect choice, but Sifo-Dyas handpicked Jango himself."
but the trick is ... this is ONLY canon when the movies don't contradict it, in other words, we'll be sure of it AFTER EpIII.
That still doesn't add up for me though...if Jango knew Syfo was Dooku's cover, why wouldn't he lie to Obi-wan? Would Dooku really be so foolish as to NOT tell Jango about the cover story?
Also, we don't know from that line that Syfo showed up himself and said Jango was his choice. For all we know, Jango or Dooku told them that after killing Syfo.
