I despise the lego video games as well, they sucked to me. I also blame those for why we got lego movies.

I just saw a TV ad for the Lego Batman movie and it looks fu#king retarded... how does that shit get 91% on RT? I'm speechless..

Announced today:

"Matt Reeves, of War of the Planet of the Apes, will take the helm of The Batman."

Well that's cool. Maybe there's hope afterall..

Because Lego Batman has enjoyable comedy? If anything I'm more annoyed at how the CW DC shows will be getting lego spinoff treatment next. Milking the idea dry.

Dawn is a solid movie, looking forward to see Matt and Bens vision for a Batman movie

A Lego DCEU would work better than the current live action one.

Providing Affleck actually stays on...

I love Dawn. 👆 He's going to do the movie justice, IMO.

He will, As long as WB's don't step in.

As long as cringe worthy Leto Joker isnt in it, then it could be good.

that too

Joe has already started his training, so it's Slade.

Figured that wouldn't change. Still, good to hear.

It's from Variety, so they're pretty spot on. Plus Ben never said anything bad about the scrip, so..

Ben's also on record saying he wouldn't direct if the script wasn't right. So him stepping down as director is a bad sign no matter how it's spinned.

Not yet confirmed, but HELL YES!

David Ayer was also a good director. So Won't make a difference if WB are pulling the strings.

Also no point in getting excited when the majority of directors they hire don't go through with the film anyway.

That's true, but there is really no way to know. Reeves is a fantastic director, so if WB doesn't step in, he'll do a fine job.

Read one of the options for the director's job was Ridley Scott, If Matt Reeves didn't take he job.

Doesn't matter who directs if WB quality killing control comes in.

Exactly. They've already ruined it with their Ace in the hole- Affleck.

We know Affleck wants out. And he's also a fantastic director.

WB can throw in all ththe big names they want. That won't resolve the issues they're having. In fact the bigger names are the ones more likely to step down when they're not given enough creative control.

Thinking about it though, Aquaman's probably the one showing the most promise given Wan has stuck it out this whole time, and they seem to still be on track with their original release date.

I changed my mind, I love the movie now. Oh no I haven't seen it or anything, god no nothing like that. But I did find out a lot of people are apparently having some "buyers remorse" after seeing it..not due to the quality, but due to the one of the producers connections to Trump, lmao!

I guess some people tried to boycott it cuz of the Trump connection, but it debuted at #1 so that backfired spectacularly.

Kind of like how conservatives tried to boycott #1 hit broadway musical Hamilton and failed at it spectacularly, because the show is a cultural phenomenon and always sold out

I'm sure they wanted Ridley Scott. I'm not sure Ridley Scott wanted them though

Ben Affleck stepped down as director of Warner Bros.'s The Batman, and now a report from Collider indicates that the actor/writer/director is wanting to leave DC films entirely - exiting as Batman. Citing three sources "connected to what's going on at Warner Bros.," Collider Movie Talk showrunner/host John Campea stated that Affleck is in talks with the studio to quit the project.

"Ben Affleck, make no mistake, he does want out. He doesn't want to be Batman anymore," said Campea. "I've been told, Ben Affleck is talking with Warner Bros. in an attempt to get out of being Batman. And if they do not let him out of being Batman, the standalone Batman film that ultimately happens will be the last time we see Ben Affleck as Batman."
