Val who?

Yet a while back he wasn't happy with Afflecks Batman killing people... 😬

Conroy being modest and probably just wanting to give poor Affleck a confidence boost with that statement after all that's happened for him. lol

Hence the crappy sequel.

The sequel bombed. Hence the 8 year break prior to rebooting.

Help me understand. How was it a big hit?

Same way Man of Steel was.

Tripled its budget, surpassed its budget domestically. Sequel greenlit right away.

So Exactly how was it NOT a hit?

You're not making any sense Zack.

^ Oh and it trounced over the previous Keaton Batman (Returns). How was that not a hit and a win? Lol

Because it didnt do so hot domestically. Exactly how much did it get from foreign box office?

So now Golgo is back to picking and choosing what suits him when it comes to the foreign box office.

LOL

Basically you can't answer.

Anyone got any numbers that says Forever was a flop? I looked at two sites that said it did decent business.

And no, Kilmer wasn't perfect, but he wasn't bad either. He was a decent Bruce even if his Batman was lacking imo.

Lol it wasn't a Flop. It was a pretty big hit. Zack just making stuff up. Forever was bigger than Returns Lol

So yeah they can recast without risking the franchise.

Bigger than Returns? That's not a big accomplishment. lol

batman forever opened up to $52 million domestic, finished with $336 million worldwide, film cost $100 million... back then studios didn't spend hundreds of millions of dollars to market/promote..

batman returns on an $80 million dollar budget opened up to $46.6 million domestic, finished with $266 million worldwide...

again back then studios didn't spend tons of money to market/promote...

Yeah. I'm not sure they SHOULD recast, but I don't think it's impossible.

You leave Returns alone.

Kind of relevant to the discussion of recasting though.

Oh they should definitely stick to Ben if they can. Just look at Spider-Man Homecoming struggling to come close to Ramai Spider-Man numbers because audiences are tiring of Spider-Man reboots.

That said the Batman franchise would go on just fine if they are forced to recast.

Forever actually broke Jurassic Park's opening weekend. Great accomplishment, but the budget was too high to call it a big hit.

Holy fuq, can we get a separate boxoffice movie sub forum? 😬

So it wasn't a failure, it just wasn't a big hit?

It had a domestic OW to final multiplier of 3.5, and worldwide it more than tripled its budget 😬

So Yes it certainly was a hit. Arguably a "big" hit.
