Basically Trump talks about things that are on a lot of peoples minds, not just racists. I have said time and again this is why his more extreme statements are overlooked.

Though I would also say that "scummy politics" really is just politics, it's inherently scummy.

Trump seems to be made of teflon is the regard, he's a special circumstance. If other politicians said what he said, they'd likely have been done by now. Can you imagine Jeb Bush calling America basically crap and it sliding off? I can't. Or many of the other Trumpisms we're heard roll out of his mouth.

Yeah, but Trump's (and Cruz to a lesser extent) really the only one talking about denying people entry based on religion, people wearing Muslim identifier tags, implying Mexicans are rapist etc. That's applying an extra layer of scum.

The problem I see is that for some people calling America crap would be a bad thing. That just shows how truly out of touch most people are with the state of things. When something needs to be fixed you don't punish someone for pointing out it's broken.

A lot of stuff that goes on here is crap. Our legal system needs to be completely overhauled, and that is just one aspect.

I'm not talking about it being a correct or incorrect statement. Just pointing out that if another politician said 'America isn't #1, it's crap right now' they'd sink in the polls, yet Trump rises with these political-suicide comments.

You may be right, but I don't know..maybe it is because Trump has said so many outrageous things..I mean "America is crap right now" is pretty tame compared to the other stuff.

I honestly feel on some level people are still in a state of disbelief he has come so far.

Sanders is about to get secret service protection.

Why you ask? Because he gets way bigger crowds then Hilary.

So funny people here like Rob and others written off Sanders and said, he's just not going to win.

Now Bill has said, he does not even think Hilary will get Iowa.

Trump vs Sanders is how it needs to be.

Anyone here who is still rooting for the Clintons has questionable integrity.

She has failed her party in many ways.

Doesn't pretty much everyone who runs for president get secret service protection?

Edit: Guess not. http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/dem-primaries/267607-sanders-to-receive-secret-service-protection

I hope Bernie knows not to equip those secret service agents protecting him with guns, they just plum don't protect folk these days. Just give them tasers and billy clubs.

This is fascinating, far from the assumption/spin that it is mainly men that support Bernie Sanders (in opposition to Hillary), Sanders is actually favoured by young women, to a bigger extent than by young men:

http://usuncut.com/politics/bernie-bro-is-a-myth/

Bernie Sanders has more female than male support

It’s been widely-reported that millennials make up the bulk of Sanders’ base. But the truth is, most polls reflect that the majority of Bernie’s millennial support is actually young women. Bernie is even beating out the former First Lady for their support, enjoying a 20 percent lead among women between 18 and 35 years old over Hillary Clinton.

Compare this to his lead among young men, where Sen. Sanders is only beating Hillary Clinton by four percentage points – barely outside the margin of error. Based on these numbers, a young male is actually more likely to support Clinton than a young woman, and her male support is the only thing keeping Clinton’s millennial numbers from being a total disaster.

Place your bets now: Who'll win tonight - Bernie or Hillary?

You really need to pull your own fist out of your ass, it makes you ornery.

What I said: That while I wanted Sanders to win the nom (and the presidency), I didn't see him getting it, as early in there was this "Hillary deserves it" approach on the Dem side and he also had his age and his religion (or lack there of) going against him.

Now, it's looking better and better for him and this makes me happy.

Yeah, especially since Hilary doesn't deserve it. Nobody DESERVES it.

Don't even try to say that, if your not with someone from the beginning don't jump on the train before it leaves the station.

We've covered this already multiple times now, you can want someone to win, but believe they won't.

Also, getting on the train before it leaves is sound advice, ya weirdo.

😂

I've been saying sanders was going to beat her from the beginning, so I'm a bigger fan then you are.

You're being weird again.

But imo, you were just saying that out of spite for Hillary, not because you actually thought it was feasible back when she had the nom on a silver platter.

Go back and look at all my pro bernie posts, I have never doubted him beating her. You on the other hand have always been half in half out "i want sanders to win, but I know Hilary will."

What kind of faith and hope is that? And don't give me that "I didn't want to get my hopes up."

Faith and Hope are the only things that people have in this world.

We've covered this already as well, really, really, really wanting something isn't a reason to discard reality. Back then, Clinton all but had the nom, now not so much. She could still get it though, she's nowhere close to being out of the race.
