Dooku fighting off three night sisters while drugged, taking on Anakin and Obi Wan and a bunch of other aliens shooting at him and coming out unscathed, he was able to successfully fight off Savage and Asajj as well before savage turned on her, his lightsaber feats dwarf Maces.

i go by what I've seen and i haven't seen mace do much with a lightsaber, background stories on how great he is are inconclusive, I've seen Dooku do all these things? what feats does Mace have in TCW that sets him apart from the regular rabble of jedi lightsaber feats??

fact is that Dooku is a much better sword fighter than Mace, his style is meant to fight other sword fighters. And to do it calmly i might add so even if Vapaad was a real thing in the film/tv continuity it would even work on Dooku
also Dooku had a great showing against Yoda where he was actually able to meet him in solid combat. the fact that he had to run only means that he wasn't able to match him much longer but if he can have that kind a showing against the peerless master of the Jedi order than Yodas second in command would at the very very least be an even matchup for Dooku

even more reason to believe that Sidious couldn't have lost to Mace, fact is that Yoda is #1 and Mace is #2, Sidious beat Yoda so how could Mace have possibly beaten Palpatine? Anyway Windu is as much on equal ground with Dooku and Yoda is with Sidious.
The reason this match works so well is that Sidious is a small bit better at Force abilities than Yoda and Dooku is that much better a swordsman then Windu.

I've got tons of evidence, youre just too biased to see it:
- palpatine lets anakin know he's a sith and allows him to tell the jedi
- palpatine kills 3 jedi before mace can even react properly
- palpatine has mace at sword point seconds into their fight and doesnt kill him
- palpatine is the one who broke the window in his office, the supposed catalyst for him losing focus
- mace kicks the lightsaber from palpatines hand the second before anakin walks into the room, making it appear as of mace is attacking a helpless old man
- palpatines use of lightning was meant to appear as defence against maces "assassination attempt" the dialogue before and during the lightning makes this clear
- finally he feigns total defeat until anakin chops off maces hand then springs back to life and kills mace
lots of factor play into that fight; the fact that they knew each other so well, that obi fights a fantastic defensive game, that anakin had become too angry and became sloppy. These are things that will affect a real fight and watching the story unfold they make sense here as well. Somebody said it before sometimes a different situation give you a different outcome in a fight
