Old news? So killing people is alright if it happened last year? The people GM killed probably recovered by now, huh...

I'm not making excuses btw, I think Volkswagen should be fully held responsible, just like the lying and cheating and frankly murdering American companies should be. It reflects badly on you that you don't care, just shows that this is not about the scandal at all, you just think that you get to me somehow by talking about anything related to Germany.

so there it is. You really dont care about the topic and this is all an effort to get bardock mad. Ok then. I'll take my relevant trivia elsewhere.

Blame your savior Obama, he is hammering VW and not Ford. It reflects bad on him, I didn't cause the scandal did I?

"The Obama administration on Friday directed Volkswagen to recall nearly a half-million cars, saying the automaker illegally installed software in its diesel-power cars to evade standards for reducing smog."

Go make some coffee bruh.

I just notice that you don't. You are "mad" at VW, but give Ford and GM a pass. You stick up for cops that kill unarmed teenagers, but are quiet about those that go above and beyond to help and protect citizens. It's just an ugly pattern, and quite shameful.

Reported for going off topic

Good luck with that. You know you don't need to, and probably shouldn't announce reporting people, it just brings a hostility into it that makes threads go off topic.

Luckily I want to discuss the VW scandal, as well as other auto-maker scandals, like GM and Ford.

Really there just needs to be more corporate oversight into the kinds of dangerous things companies do. It also ties in with things like the Exxon Valdez spill or the more recent BP spill. Big corporations, regardless of country, need to be held accountable, I wish you'd agree, but you don't care if it is American owned companies.

Oh I care what BP did, funny enough VW hired the same lawyers.

The great thing about BP is they are doing so much good now, they have turned around the bad.

Since all you want to do is talk about the past can we talk about Hitler in every thread as well?

Good link.

"Based on rates used in EPA reports, one to six people could have died earlier than expected in the Los Angeles basin, with estimates varying depending on the model and the possible emission range of Volkswagen or Audi vehicles. The tally ranges from 2 to 16 early deaths in California and 12 to 112 nationwide.

That’s a lot of gray area, experts cautioned."

Man, that's crazy, the worst case scenario is about as bad as what GM did (though I suppose earlier deaths is not the same as actually killing someone). But even if it's just 12 it's awful. And it shows that these kinds of things have real consequences. Like we often only think like "oh it's bad for the environment" but then that gives no context, showing what the results are is a really good way to make it more clear to people

TI: LOL. Yeah, bet he wouldn't like that.

Yeah, of course you care what BP did...since it's British. You just turn a blind eye when it's American, which is pathetic. Additionally you bring up Hitler in every thread I'm in so we already do that.

Good point about these things being a wake up call though. Personally I'm hoping this paves the way for electric (and perhaps hybrid or hydrogen) vehicles. It's going to be interesting to see how VW reacts, and what the consequences will be for it.

TIL bp undid the oil spill and negligence that led to it.

Obama seems to have a problem with it, so yea. And thats just the statistics from California.

Funny enough, I thought BP was American. So you failed at pinning that on me.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence, it only happens every time after all.

If BP stood for British Petroleum, sure I would not have a excuse, but it stands for beyond petroleum and I thought they were American, after all they have all their filthy gas stations over here in socal.

But this thread isn't about BP nor am I attacking them and you just flip flopped.

tbh, that's just an obvious lie. The news sources you frequent went out of their way to constantly call it "British Petroleum" when the spill happened.

It appears that I flip-flopped, because you were unable to read my obvious sarcasm, but that's a different matter.

Do you think other car makers will be shown to cheat on emissions or do you think this is an isolated case?

Show me attacking BP.

Liar.
