Taijutsu is not Pain's weakness. Jiraiya's use of it couldn't beat Pain, nor Kakashi, nor Inuzuka style, nor Akimichi style, nor Naruto's taijutsu, nor Hyuga style. Only one pain is explicitly called weak to taijutsu and even that one lasted a long time. Yet you think Guy, who is Kakashi level(as per their rivalry), can defeat all the Paths lol. By the way, Kakashi did not almost beat the Deva Path. Kakashi had help and still lost to only two bodies. Naruto beat a Pain who had just performed two massively powerful techniques that greatly take a toll on his body. Before that Pain had him beat quite handily because even two bursts of Sage Mode could not give Naruto the stamina needed to beat Pain.
Pain's Shira Tensei has better showings. It wrecked an entire village while Guy's Afternoon Tiger shook an island. Pain was left without his gravity powers for a few minutes, tops, but Guy has repeatedly been shown only using Afternoon Tiger once before being too weakened to do much else(except open 8 Gates of course). One of Pain's casual Shinra Tensei was able to break every bone in Gamabunta's body and his body is a little bit bigger than Guy's. Even if I concede that Afternoon Tiger could overcome the city busting Shinra Tensei, that still leaves Chibaku Tensei which took the combined efforts of a Rasenshuriken, Itachi's Susano'o, and the Hachibi's Bijuudama to destroy(Naruto's mini-bijuudama in 6 tails couldn't). For as impressive as Afternoon Tiger is it is, after all, only concentrated air. That is why Kisame could survive it. Meanwhile, the only reason 6-Tails Naruto could take the Shinra Tensei was because he used his tails as an anchor. KCM Naruto, who is obviously above a rage induced 6 Tails, and Bee, who is the same, were both blown away by it easily later in the war.
Your argument hinges on Afternoon Tiger alone by the way. The 6th Gate is certainly nothing before Shinra Tensei and anything below is not worth mentioning. Guy has never fought a prolonged battle with 7 Gates because it absolutely destroys his body to the point where a few minutes after using his best move he is unable to stop a shark from eating him. He'd have to take out all of the Pain's in one shot and he simply will not be doing that. If only because push come to show the Animal Path will summon stuff to block the move.
