We also have the problem of all those Asgardian characters being designate from Universe 616 in all the handbooks.

Telling you, despite it being a dimensional gap from the prime universe,
its not it's own universe, the whole is just part of 616.

... hey there brother Jun, wut uuup!

The reason is, because previously Asgard-Space was a "pocket" universe which surrounded 616,
it wasn't within 616, ... it floated far away but around 616, as did all the other Pockets closely associated with 616.

When 616 diverges, these surrounding Pockets diverged likewise.
But they were never, at any time, within the actual 616 universe.

That's how I always understood it.

Now the story is according the scans I read in this thread, these "pockets" have turned into "full blown" universes.

Isn't a pocket universe still a universe? And doesn't "pocket" implies "inside" or "connected to"?

Yes, but limited in size. (with boundaries basically)

Asgard, like all "pockets" are "ExtraDimensional" spaces:

--------------------------------------------

Extradimensional: (in Marvel comics means)

"Anything which is native to a dimension other than 616"

Nothing but high showings here (you can use average showings as well).

Lol, just noticed that.

What a gem.

It's been mentioned in the past that Asgard is in the same galaxy as the rigellians; it was also stated several times that it's thousands (or so) worlds away from Earth iirc, and other accounts which say it's at the other side of the universe. All of these imply that it's inside 616. though these are mostly from old stories. Old stories seem to vary Asgard's standing in the universe based on the writer, although recent comics seemed to have reach a consensus that Asgard is separate.
