Well he doesn't really "use" the Force.

The Force uses him.

True: shit sounds so zany next to "dust motes in a storm" and "the darkness in which all things die" and all the clearly objective, scientific phrases used to accurately describe Nihilus. 👆

I've never used those phrases as literal descriptions of Nihilus. Or ever I don't think. The first one is merely a colorful phrase to expand upon the fact that Nihilus literally doesn't perceive things like a normal person because his senses are so large. Like saying something far away looks like ants.

You mean like the guys who designed the Temple of the Ancients in SWTOR really knew what they were doing when designing a building described as "twenty meters" tall so we look into that with their ignorance in mind and a critical eye?lol ok.

You mean Bioware? Wait a minute- Who created Kotor 1 again???? Was it Ubisoft?????? O-or was it Bioware?????????? Were Bioware the guys who created the temple in the first place and thus have every right to redesign it now that they have a better engine??????????????????????????????????

Just to throw my two cents in the ring, nearly all of the original people who worked on KotOR 1 were gone by the time of SOR. They even said as much.

They still have the asset's and information from the first game and can easily reference the temple's dimensions. Calling it ignorance is clearly false, it's still modeled after the original design, its just much bigger.

Yes, the really knew what they were doing. They knew what the temple looked like. They consciously decided to increase the scale. That's what happened.

Manaan's Ahto City is bigger too I believe, it's how Swtor rolls.

......Or like dust motes? In a storm?

You use those phrases all the time to draw favorable conclusions for Nihilus. Even after he takes the time to stun Canderous goddamn Ordo of all people.

Canderous must be one motherfvcker of an ant!

Your remarks are increasingly desperate — lol — whining about vague "rights."

It's as irrelevant as Karpyshyn's "ignorance" of KotOR 2.

jk

No, I don't. He stuns Canderous because he's not blind, he can see the guy standing right in ****ing front of him with a blaster rifle, lol.

Bioware aren't ignorant of what they're own creations look like. They clearly knew what the temple looked like, the basic design is the same just bigger. Karpshan was actually ignorant cuz he didn't take the time to play the game.

.....................................................................doesn't that undermine Tobin's entire hyperbolic point?

Karpyshyn was ignorant of a development that wouldn't occur until 7-9 years after he wrote the book? mmm

No, the point was that he hadn't done anything about being boarded because he wouldn't pay attention to something so small. Having someone actually standing in front of you isn't the same as sensing something from far away. Nihilus turns around and looks at the party, he's not going to not see the shiny mandalorion standing 4 feet in front of him.

Uh, what? Kotor 2 happened..... before..... he wrote........ the book????

Tobin attached a proximity qualifier to that flowery bullshit?

Thought we were talking about Karpyshyn and his description of the temple vs SWTOR's.

I think it's more like common sense that if you're looking straight at someone you know they're there. Just a thought.

How could Kapyshan be ignorant about something that hadn't happened yet, that makes no sense. I'm saying that he was ignorant about Kotor 2 which is why we shouldn't take his work as concrete and then you started comparing that suggestion with the temple thing. Its not comparable though because while Kapyshan was ignorant, Bioware knew full well what the previous game had the temple look like and decided to change its design.

Even if Mr. Karpyshyn didn't know much about KOTOR II, Darth Bane had a lot of similar ideas to Kreia. I found it pretty neat.

Interesting how the assertion of Revan and/or Malak being on par or superior to Nihilus (or at the absolute least in the same league as Nihilus) is considered "unbearable wank" for some reason. Sounds a bit more like people are heavily overrating Nihilus or are simply completely disregarding anything and everything (including quotes, scaling, authorial/writer intent etc) except for purely feats when evaluating these characters.

I disregard any quotes that doesn't align with established feats personally so I don't have those conflicts of interest.
