lt has ALWAYS represented this higher power/toaa. but representing does NOT, in any way at mean, imply he is using the POWER of. in fact, is there in existence, even ONE scan that definitively shows lt actually ACCESSING the power of the one he represents? i know forum myths have sprung up to attempt to explain away some of his poor showings as NOT being 'backed' by toaa, but is there ANY scene that actually, clearly proves that lt even CAN have access to more or less power than on other occasions? if there is, i've never seen them.
so, what does that mean?
lt existed well before the ig, and has ALWAYS represented a higher power. therefore, that higher power has always existed in marvel--and clearly predates the ig's inception.
since we know, even in its hey-day that lt>ig (and again, there is absolutely ZERO proof that he was any more powerful than he has ever been) it obviously follows that toaa>>ig, and that in fact, despite starlin's (at times) ravings, the ig was NEVER, even at it's birth, TRULY the supreme power in marvel....
by contrast, lucifer is closely linked with the TRUE supreme being, has the WILL of the supreme being, and has manipulated the power of the supreme being--all terms used regularly on panel, no interpretation necessary.
i do think it's a simple dynamic, honestly. if we're talking the hotu, then it's a debatable issue imo.
as for whether lucy could compete with god--no, he couldn't. god created lucifer in his image, and granted him his will. said will, and said creation, could be revoked by god had he so desired, so no, imo, there is certainly not, nor has there ever been 3 supreme beings in vertigo...
