Paris multiple attacks

Sure, keep turning this political like you have been.

I hadn't heard the term either, here's an interesting article on it http://theweek.com/speedreads/446139/france-says-name-isis-offensive-call-daesh-instead

Since we've been changing what to call them (ISIS/ISIL/IS/etc.) maybe this is a good name to be using.

You were the one turning this political, don't play innocent. Additionally you've been told to drop it by two mods...seriously, wtf?

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is a bit of a misnomer, says France, as it lends the imprimatur of Islam to a group that the vast majority of Muslims finds despicable. "This is a terrorist group and not a state. I do not recommend using the term Islamic State because it blurs the lines between Islam, Muslims, and Islamists," France's Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said in a statement. "The Arabs call it 'Daesh' and I will be calling them the 'Daesh cutthroats.'"
-

This really sums it up doesn't it? Makes it clear they have no legitimacy, more accurate, and they don't like it one bit.

I hope more other countries adopt using it. Especially since France lead the way.

Indeed. A quick review of the conversation indicates that you turned it political, T-I. Again, I advise that you drop that accusation.

I'm tired so I'm not totally wrapping my head around the Daesh term, but I get the gist. Who normally uses it, aside from the French (now)?

EDIT: Answered my own question by re-reading

Apparently Daesh is basically the acronym "ISIL" in Arabic, but it also is an insult....two birds one stone.

Got it now. And I like it.

Here's a page that goes into a bit more depth

It even has multiple possible insulting meanings. It can mean 'to trample underfoot' (in general, the bottom of the foot is considered pretty insulting in arab cultures. Tossing a shoe at someone is a great insult, and so on), or, poetically, "felon and dust".

Daesh sounds like the guy from the Bourne movies and therefore a compliment, how about we just call them rag head pussys?

I am convinced Q99 is a closet Muslim smartass.

It was fairly obvious that it was an attack from an Islamic terrorist group, even prior to the confirmation by Pres. Hollande and Fox News. Anyone conscious to the state of current affairs knew it.

It's a tragedy. Such acts of Terror, and it doesn't matter if from single persons, terroristic organisations or governments, should be punished by the rest of the worlds. Now, if one understands why people from Syria, Afghanistan and Irak flee, they have to live with such acts of terror on a daily basis. I would flee too. Palestina has to live with such a terror too.

Maybe we shouldn't buy into TI's lies that Q99 actually said that though. In fact he said that it is most likely to be an Islamist terrorist attack, the discussion however shifted to the greater topic of Islamophobia as portrayed by people like TI and Star in this thread.

Consider this a warning, T-I. I'm not going to tolerate this sort of ignorance and casual racism, especially after I already told you to shut it down. Next one is a temp ban.

I'm going to make that a blanket warning to quell the Islamophobia in this thread. You can be anti-ISIS all you want (and I very much am myself, they're ruining the world for everyone, in their neighborhood and abroad). But I'm not accepting epithets and slurs. Keep those to yourself or reassess your world view.

I spoke with my coworker this morning, who spent most of his life in Iraq. He laughed when I brought up the phrase "Daesh" and happily broke down the phonetics and background. I found it amusing.

Lol, clearly he was talking and saying two separate things, unless you can prove otherwise.

Saying Q99 is a Islamic smartass has nothing do with blaming who was responsible. As well, he did not claim Q99 didn't say ISIS was responsible.

As we all knew it would come down to you blaming Star and myself for the attacks.😂

You are just trying to take what he said, and misdirect it on me.

Again, won't work.

I'm going to assume you didn't see my post, T-I. Please consider editing yours out.

Oh so I am not allowed to post anymore? If you are going to tell me I can't speak on the topic, you have to tell Bardock as well, as he continued about it as well directing other peoples that had noting to do with me, against me. You specifically said to not say casual racism stuff. If you can point out how I did after you said not to, I will edit it out.

You are more than welcome to post. Carry on a civil discussion about the tragedy without derailing the thread or attacking others, or opt to find another thread to post in. The choice is entirely yours.

Also, "Islamic smartass." Not gonna fly.

It is confirmed, or are you as usual looking for any opportunity to blame someone else.

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/11/14/french-police-report-shootout-and-explosion-in-paris/?intcmp=hpbt1

Your excuses don't matter. and you should be ashamed of yourself for turning this into politics like you have been.

👆

Remember though, TI. Fox news are liars according to the left. CNN is the most trusted news source. 🙄

You're pathetic.
1. Christianity doesn't support terrorism.

2. European culture doesn't either.

3. Whites outnumber Arab Muslims 100 to 1, yet non whites Muslims commit 90+ % of terrorism here.

4. Identifying an anomaly doesn't disprove white Christians are unlikely terrorists here and now.

You know what you're doing, and its pathetic.

This is a tragedy, but the french sickness of political correctness and liberalism makes these attacks an inevitability. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more.
The french openly invite and house extremist Muslims. They give them political power well above their respective citizenship percentage.

Its literally illegal to talk against Islam.

They are weak, and terrorists always take the low hanging fruit.

Lol. Ok, buddy.

That's insane. Of course I do not blame either of you for the attacks...
