Superman can easily withstand the sun's corona while Sentry's skin was getting destroyed, Superman IIRC has not been destroyed by alien lasers like lindy destroyed Sentry's face. Even Byrne Superman a less powerful version of OWAW was able to survive the Sun's corona IIRC. This is a more powerful version of Superman.
Seems like we often forget that there are grades of invulnerability. Character A being "invulnerable" does not means he is as "invulnerable" as character B
Sentry was turning his powers off to suicide himself in the Sun, even then he was incapable to suicide himself and regenerated in the Sun. He is supposed to be able to absorb any kind of energy whatever the source as he demonstrated against Photon.
Sentry was able to whistand planet-killing attacks without a scratch against Genis-Vell.
I guess that when Bob is at home he just uses the hide of the Sentry to please his wife (she asked him to stay this way because she likes it). He don't need to keep his powers active.

While you might be right, what we have on panel evidence is that a heat as intense as the sun's corono or an alien laser can destroy sentry's skin. The void is able to repair it, but the damage or destruction of it cannot be stopped or denied.
As I said even a less powerful Superman's skin was able to handle the temperatures of the sun's corona better than Sentry or Void. He was able to regenerate, yes, he wasn't able to stop the damage.

Superman has actually survived Supernovas at point blank range.
One time he survived the electromagnetic discharge of 50 supernovas. 1 electromagnetic discharge is enough to collapse a planet.
Also Superman has absorbed enough energy to vaporize the solar system.

Although in the end he didn't want it enough and he healed back up.And Lindy shot him and granted he was lying on the floor. But he again got up straight away (or rather the Void did).
