Racism

What racism have you experienced?

A lot of racism isn't experienced directly. In most cases it is in the form of not getting the job interview or having a store clerk stare at you to make sure that you don't shoplift.

But as a Swede I've not been beat down nor insulted—I've might have been called "svenne" which is the equivalent of "whitey," but that's it—and I've doubt I've experienced any indirect forms of racism either.

Been called "cracka".

i remember i was working at a place that was about 50% black, but all my direct supervisors were black. no mexican, whites, or asians ever got awards or promotions. As soon as black men were hired they were asked if they liked to play basketball. All the people who played basketball on Saturdays were promoted or given awards.

(it's a government job)

my ex-girlfriend was black. her brothers said i wouldn't be able to protect her.
i was bigger than all of them, boxed my whole life, could bench 405 lbs but they thought i was physically inferior because i'm not black. is that racism?

An older Caucasian couple was at a clothing store trying on clothes with my parents, and they commented on my dad when he was trying on a new Jacket. They said something like "That must really keep you warm while you're working in the fields"-, and my dad just smiled and said he was a Game warden/Federal firearms instructor. Lol. My dad is dark and typically day laborers down in the valley wear rustic clothing, but yeah he's not a field worker

Another one was back in 2010 my girlfriend and I were driving from Yuma Az back to my hometown. We approached the Border Patrol station and I guess I was nervous or something, and the German shepherd was sniffing around my car after I showed the agent my ID. I'm not sure what he smelled but on top of my nervous actions, and the dog getting a whiff of probably the coffee we had to wait 45 minutes while they searched our car. I don't think I was profiled but it was a funny experience either way

i'm not lying. you just don't want to believe it. what i described happens a lot in government jobs. corrections and law enforcement depending on what city you are in.
the lieutenants would see new recruits and determine who they wanted in their little circle. it was always black guys. the lieutenants were responsible for creating promotion proposals or writing up awards.
i know you don't want to believe it but it's just the way it is.

that jacket thing would have pissed me off.

not sure if this is racism but....
my best friend as a kid was vietnamese. we had another mutual friend that was also vietnamese. the other boy showed us our first porno mag. the magazine was left at my friends house and his mother discovered it. i remember coming over and she was yelling in vietnamese. he came out of the house and said we can't be friends anymore. i asked why and he said that his mother found the porno and he said it was mine. i asked why he did that and he said that his mother would never believe that another vietnamese boy would have a porno.
never spoke to the guy again.

If it was as you described it then yes, it was racism.

It's not that I don't want to believe you, it's just that the response is contrived considering it followed my explanation of indirect racism.

my father moved to a white community in the sixties. he said he was walking down his street one day when a car full of white men yelled out and called him "eight ball"
my dad is mexican lol

This is sad.

you reminded me of it. it's a big reason why i transferred and many others did also. that particular place has the highest rate of sick leave use and turnover in the western region.

I think I inspired you to make it up.

Of course you'd never admit this you'd out yourself as a liar and lower your already abysmal credibility.

Wtf? This is no damn lie and it's obvious what drives you to say this. This is my damn experience astner. You have no right and no reason to say that to me. You obviously let your political views dominate your reasoning

I have the right to believe whatever I want to, and I'm going hold a certain degree of skepticism when reading trite accounts by people who want Trump in office.

You don't even know what political ideologies I hold to. In fact I'm pretty sure you have absolutely no grasp of foreign politics.
