^ Might be rounded down tomorrow.Btw that's the lowest DCEU opening so far, despite being the best reviewed. Shows hype for the DCEU has been steadily decreasing since BvS.
But this should turn things around. Providing JL doesn't dent it again.

Hype? WW wasnt closer to being as hyped as SS Or BVS. The marketing team ran a modest marketing campaign.

So, are critics busting an aneurysm over the fact that Wonder Woman killed, without remorse, in this movie?
Why would they? Like Thor, she is part of a race of immortal warriors living outside human society, and have different views on death by combat. Besides, she got to cut loose during human wartime.
I think the movie is rather wonderful. Ironically, it is the most Marvel-like of the DCEU films so far(right down to DC's new opening logo) and borrows many plots points from Captain America: The First Avenger. That's probably why. 😉

"Why would they?"
Because characters with a documented record of killing in movies, tv shows, and even comic books have recently been catching hell for doing just that; even when the act is done defensively or reluctantly.
Contrasted with Wonder Woman who seems positively chipper at the prospect of killing Ares, and has no qualms about mowing down mere mortals (mere mortals she considers relatively innocent, btw), the fact that no one in critical circles seems to care surprises me.
So she is from an island of warriors. Does this give her a license to kill? She makes it clear in the film thst she wants to protect life, but slaughters nearly every German she sees.
For the record: I couldn't care less that she killed. It's the fact that no critics seem to even bring it up when Kal gets put through the wringer for kills people thought he made (African warlord) or "not saving people fast enough" (flood scene) makes me scratch my head.

Hey I'm the one who was saying 100+ for WW, even when the projections were coming in really low.

They're not really that similar tbh.
I saw plenty of similarities. From
Spoiler:But there is nothing wrong with that. Movies draw ideas from other movies all the time. TFA drew some of those ideas from other sources. It was just more noticeable to me here because both were big name comic book origin films. What is more important to me is that I felt they executed all those ideas well, and that it all fit nicely into the overall story.
the overall war setting, the way the film was structured (intro present - main past - outro present), to the initial naivety and idealism of the lead character, people initially wanting to protect the lead from harm and keep them from fighting and them resisting it (albeit for different reasons in terms of Cap and Diana, with Diana being the daughter of Zeus and Steve being a skinny midget), them disobeying orders/commands to prove themselves (Diana going off to WW1, Cap ignoring orders to go save Bucky and the other soldiers), the small crew tagging along with them ala Howling Commandos, the villains wiping out their leadership structure after getting told the plug was getting pulled on their projects, mad scientist major henchman in key role, apparent suicide by plane to save lives (though Cap did survive, but everyone thought he died at the time), and other stuff I can't be arsed to list right now.
