But to not use that in a dismisses fashion, it goes back to what I said earlier, sure, some people will take advantage of anything they can and abuse the system for personal gain, causing chaos etc., doesn't mean we should throw out the baby with the bathwater, so to speak.
Someone who has gone through hormone therapy and gender reassignment surgery is obviously not just doing it so they can look at someone else's kids in the bathroom, which was brought up in here.

Yes but he was also talking about other things like if a person decides to identify as a certain race or even age. Where would you draw the line?

Age can be objectively defined and has meaningful implications for a variety of functions, so it would be silly to let people officially define themselves differently. Likewise, we may allow people to identify with their own genders, but they will need some sort of surgery to change sexes.
There's also the simple fact that lots of people attach a certain social and psychological importance to their gender identity, and have experienced similar levels of backlash, that simply doesn't occur with respect to age, so there's really less of a public interest in doing anything about it.
With race and most other slippery slopes, perhaps we should replicate the sex/gender distinction; you can identify with whatever ethnicity you want, but we can still link certain percentages of your genetic code to different population groups, and you can't change that.
That's the slippery slope I mentioned, he's going for that angle. Similar with the "if we allow to men to marry each other, then next we'll have someone marrying their cat!" rants back when equal marriage rights were being fought for.
Admittedly, his slope is more sensible than the example I used and why I went on to comment on it and not outright dismiss him. There will be someone who claims to be black and apply for black scholarships and such (has happened already, iirc), can imagine someone will also try it with age for personal gain. The few turds shouldn't ruin it for those in actual need though.
