For me, this episode was enjoyable, if only to see

Spoiler:
one of Ramsay's own dogs take a bite out of his face.

So predictable.

They just rehashed Jon vs wildlings.

Phuck this show.

Yeah, they've done this with every major battle so far. Good guy gets absolutely slaughtered before being saved. Tyrion on the Blackwater, Jon vs the Wildlings, and Jon vs the Nights King (to a lesser extent since they were saved by boats and escaped).

Sansa was fking awesome. Thank god she finally stepped it up. Came in with another army to save the day (though I'm not sure why she couldn't have told Jon so he could just stall for a bit), and got Ramsay eaten alive by his own dogs. Jon pounding in Ramsays skull with the bone breaking gave me flashbacks to every cruel thing he's ever done, so good scene. Well shot battle, though the ending was typical.

Rickon dying was such a waste. I always thought Rickon would come back as an absolute beast and save the Starks, but he's just killed stupidly with his Direwolf. I was so sure it was a trick orchestrated by the Smalljon to betray Ramsay at the battle since the Greatjon was killed at the Red Wedding which was orchestrated by Roose. I figured thats why he refused to bend the knee to Ramsay. He had literally no good reason to not betray the Boltons. Now his house is extinct because he was a f*cktard. I actually liked the Greatjon too.

Also, WTF was with Dany's dragons just randomly breaking out at the right time? I'm not complaining since we got that badass scene of the Dragons destroying the Harpy fleet, but they couldn't write that better? Why couldn't Tyrion let them out or something? If they could break out at any time, it kind of falls flat.

At least the Boltons are extinct now. No more of their BS. Centuries of them flaying and murdering Stark Lords. It's about time the Starks put a permanent stop to it. On to the Freys and the Lannisters. Thank god Walder Frey is back. I missed that guy. Now Bran is on his way back to the North, and Arya is coming back to Winterfell. We'll get the Starks reuinited to deal out some much needed justice against the other houses who betrayed them.

Feels to me like some set up to get the remaining Starks allied with Daenerys in the end, now that there is the

Spoiler:
Theon/Ironborn link with her, as well as with Sansa.

Pretty cool contrast

Couldn't those ****ers have arranged some actual armor and weapons for the giant?

really bothered me how ramsay the mad dog turned out to be the clever tactician while jon snow's strategy was just basically "CHAAAAARGE" and run forward (and almost get trampled alone like an idiot with only dumb luck to save him.)

another opportunity wasted to prove jon as a worthy king instead of just another badass knight, which was already proven in like season 4.

I had no real issues with this episode. This was the action episode with big pops and it paid off a bunch of threads that were established. My only gripe, if anything, is at how stupid Rickon was to run in a f*ckin straight line while being shot at by Ramsay. Serpentine, muthaf*cka.

Jon had an actual strategy. It's just seeing his brother skewered made him say "f*ck that". That's why Tormund and Davos were like, "Bro...don't ****ing do it. I know that's your little brother but don't ****ing do it." But seeing his youngest brother die after everything he's already witnessed probably pushed John over the edge.

Still, he killed like 30+ people.

Great ep.

So was there any particular reason that Sansa didn't tell Jon about the Vale coming to help out? Also is Jon now longer able to be hit by arrows or what?

Guessing Bastard Bowl made everyone forget about the Dorne shenanigans.

I doubt the Dorne plot will even matter after the White Walker invasion begins. As it is now, the Lannisters have bigger problems than the Sand Snakes--they can't think about revenge until they've dealt with the Faith Militant.

I want more Dorne action simply for the hot Sand Snake with the short hair that keeps f*cking with Bronn.

It would have failed if she did let Jon in on the secret. Basically, if she revealed and waited for the full army to arrive, Ramsay would have been more careful about how they waged war, and it likely would have led to a year long siege that lasted well into winter. She used Jon and his army to bait out Ramsay and his forces so she could bring the Vale in to phuck them in the ass from behind. She finally started learning how to play the game, and it resulted in the extinction of a great house and the reinstatement of House Stark as the dominant power in the North.

She did absolutely phenomenal, and this win went to her more than anyone else IMO. Plus, those amazing one liners she dropped all episode and the ending scene with Ramsay were absolutely epic. Sansa was great this episode.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

At least give him a large log or tree branch, ffs... His lethality would skyrocket from that alone.

Yeah, not sure why Wun Wun went weaponless. Trees all around, could have easily made a large club of some sort.

All in all a very good episode action-wise, the girl-power aspect seemed a little thick/forced in the ep with Dany and her antics; then Dany and Yara; then Sansa, imo.

I liked that they didn't drag shit out like usual and got to the point in this episode.
Usually Dany wrecking the slavers and sons of the harpy's shit , Dany finally meeting Reek and his sister and the battle and conclusion to bastards bowl would have taken 5 + episodes.
Yes, it was fan service , but it can't always be " le edgy plot twists with bad guys winning" Thats the kinda thing would have actually been predictable.
Also is not the writers fault that fans have figured out future plot details.
I don't think they would change their whole story just to thwart smug fans that figured it all out already.

Fixed that for ya.

Idk, giving all the glory to Sansa may be giving her too much credit considering the tone of the conversation that she had with Jon the night before. Though considering how conveniently the Vale showed up I'm not sure if that was actually Sansa or just the plot throwing the Starks a bone for once. Also in regards to Littlefinger wouldn't this imply that Sansa still kind of trusts him which doesn't bode well for things to come.

On a slightly unrelated note I didn't appreciate Dany talking crap about Tywin on Father's Day...or any day for that matter.
