That's true. If Dany allies with the Tyrells and Martells, I imagine she'll have to execute Cersei after unseating her as queen of the seven kingdoms. Which means either we'll get encouragement and gloating from Tyrion or the opposite.I also think Melisandre might be on her way to team Dany. Littlefinger is gonna fuk everyone over. Bran and Arya will complete the Stark reunion. Also GoT is probably going to use Sam to ratchet up awareness of whitewalkers in westoros, he'll study up and then present his findings to the new queen probably.
Wonderful episode. This season was way too nice to fans, but it's ok. I found it hilarious that all I could think of toward the end of the episode was how heart-wrenching some death will be next season. This is the only show where only some fan-favorite deaths in a season can be considered fan service. The only scenes where you could actually say that are the two scenes where the women just whupped the sh*t out of the room with their words - first Olenna then the diminutive Lady Mormont. But they were funny enough that I didn't care that it was basically direct fan service.
I think Delph is the lowest on the finale here in this thread. Other than Varys and his teleportation powers - which legit made me laugh (as did
Spoiler:) - nothing really stood out to me as bad. The Cersei stuff was something we could all see coming, but was delicious in how it unfolded. And her beasting was somewhat unexpected and cool. I thought she was going kamikaze on King's Landing coming into the episode. The
Tommen's death
Spoiler:reveal was cool.
Arya
My "winner" for the season was Ser Davos. Seriously, go episode by episode and count the number of times he just took over a scene. He kept the entire North together with an iron will that Stannis only wish he had. Both the character and the actor portraying him absolutely nailed it this entire season. I'm glad he got to stretch his sea legs, so to speak.

what's the context of the coversation being had? She certainly won in terms of killing her immediate opposition... Which is all she ever thinks about. Cersei isnt a long-game kinda player.
But I think her reign might be the shortest of any of the rulers in the show. If she rules for five episodes I'll be shocked.
People like to move the goalposts with Cersei. They were saying she wasn't a long game player bc she lost King's Landing. Now she has KL, and she isn't thinking far enough ahead to keep the throne.
She doesn't have much of a head start, but she has the throne and no immediate opposition. And it's not like she didn't have a LOT of people in direct opposition to her. There were missteps, sure, but it was always an uphill battle. No one has kept the throne for long - Joffrey's in the lead at about 2 seasons and 1 episode - so I'm not really sure it's a knock. Tywin was my favorite character in the show by a fair margin, but Cersei lived up to his name. The debts were f*cking paid this episode, if nothing else.

Varys has no 'porting powers.
speaking of Varys, i wonder if his little birds were always that vicious, or if Qyburn turned them into little murderers.

No no, I get it. It's just jarring in the context of the episode. It could be the best explanation in the world and still seem out of place.
Small sh*t, though. Gave me a chuckle and doesn't matter in the larger scheme.

Yuck.
Look, Lena Headey's amazing and Cersei is certainly a great character in that she's interesting and entertaining and important. But then, so is Walder Frey.
Comparing Cersei to Tywin is insulting for Papa Lannister. As a million other characters lampshaded last season, Tywin is a character you can respect, despite his many personal flaws. Tyrion is the only character who managed to evoke any sort of meaningful pettiness from Tywin whereas Cersei is spiteful and shitty towards everyone.
Like Olenna told her a few episodes ago, the shitstorm that's plagued King Landing for the past two season owes entirely to Cersei's stupidity and pettiness. Last night's episode was simply her swan song. As everyone's pointed out, she has one extremely short-term victory... and has the rest of the world arrayed against her.
This would have never happened had Tywin been alive. Papa Lannister would eat that dumb b1tch alive.

So I read somewhere that Targaryen tradition is to marry in the family. If that's true could Dany and Jon tie the knot. It was strongly hinted at in the last episode that Dany would marry for political alliances and who better then the king of the north

Unfortunately, I don't think we will get it in the show. The showrunners seem to having raging boners for Dany...
I like it.
Yeah, I've noticed. Still, if its a huge plot point of GRRMs, they cant possibly cut that out right?

Agreed. Another thing to note is that she basically just made her own Castamere. She completely wiped out the line of House Tyrell. They have no future. It's nearly Red Wedding level planning (also equally horrific), and pulled off without a hitch, obliterating a house as formidable as House Lannister into extinction. On top of that, she neutered the faith and sent it back to being the powerless ideal it originally was. Sure, its rise to power was her fault, but she made the best of it by using it to also wipe out the biggest opposing family in Westeros. She's the most like Tywin IMO, and this was good clean up on her part for the whole faith screw up militant. Sure, she's anywhere near Tywins level, but she is still a 10/10 villain in her own right.
Another annoying thing is that House Manderly got the narrative dicking so that some half-pint **** could keep getting shilled as this little badass who is bizarrely smarter and more informed than the dumb adult nobility.
Like Arya, who has become cartoonishly competent. Who knew it was so easy to kill the head of a great house? Why the **** would the severely old and feeble Walder Frey want to eat in the presence of his guards, right? Oh but the Freys are obviously just so laughably stupid that he never thought of that.
And yeah, Garlan and Willas Tyrell were cut.

One annoying thing about the show is that the houses tend to be stick figure versions of the book houses. In the books pretty sure there are like three male heirs to Mace Tyrell besides Loras.
