What's with all the hatred for Snow? Yep, he's relatively speaking a youngin' tossed into a situation he wasn't necessarily ready for. He made some mistakes, but what he managed out on the ice, what he did in hunting down the Watch members who had turned, and in holding the wall show him to be made of pretty fit stuff overall. I don't even get the point of having characters if every single one of them makes perfect decisions, never acts rashly, and never needs help to survive the day.
As to the foolishness about how Sansa should have accepted Littlefinger's offer off the rip, can't agree there either. After what happened to her I'm sure it was all she could do not to have Bryenne or whatever her name is put her sword right through him. And the assertion that she should have somehow parleyed with Ramsey "for the greater good" if she was really focused on rebuilding the house? It makes no sense either. Had she taken on the forces that Littlefinger brought then there would have been no reason not to do exactly what she did and have them ride in unannounced to crush Ramsey; that could have been accomplished whether or not she accepted the help from the start or not. Nothing about who she is or who Jon is suggested that she or he would have considered that aside from him having their brother.
Anyway, that was a great final episode for the season. Seeing what Cersei did and how she acted wasn't just good to see plot-wise, but it was also revealing of the way her personality has shifted throughout the series. I'm surprised she didn't foresee what it would lead to with Tommen and I'm surprised as well that she would make the enemy that she did, but I'm sure that she sees herself as ready for the outcome of those particular deaths.
Liking the buildup for the war, and I'm mostly wondering how intense things will get as winter sets in. Will the Mother of Dragons lay siege and gain ground forcing the kingdom under her thumb, will winter set in and force a truce before the battle can can become too intense? How much with things like Arya's list and Littlefinger's machinations play into the outcome?
Quite amazing that a series that has killed off so many memorable characters still has lots left to give.
