If something is commonly considered to be true, then you don't have to cite a source as proof, but again, you could easily if asked.

That article you posted says "More than 200,000 men are raped behind bars each year", which honestly wouldn't surprise me, but it also doesn't cite a single statistical source, it just points to the group who made the claim. Like who did they interview, which prisons did they take their rape incidents from etc.
edit: And to be fair and not sexist, how many of those reported prison rapes where actual rapes and not after-sex-regret, how many were flat-out false accusations of rape? Since those points were brought in her in regards with women.
It's a group dedicated to stopping prison rape that did a study on it lol.
I mean you can even look up the issue of male rape vs female rape, it's more then one article man, I don't think I need to post them all.
A lot of them have similar stats, and when you compare those to stats of women raped..it's certainly beginning to look more and more likely.
Another group, Human_Rights_Watch, has estimated at least 140,000 rapes.
Actually delving into this more and reading more articles and stats I feel it's more then likely it's an equal amount of men raped per year when compared to women. Obviously not 100% equal.
Crime Victimization Survey's show about 80-90,000 men raped in prison. The higher numbers come from I guess the true number they feel because obviously not every dude will admit to getting butt raped. But then not all women admit it either, but for different reasons.
So then that along with the same survey saying about 200,000 people are sexually assaulted each year(not counting prison) and about 10-20% of those are men. Also again it needs to be said sexual assault doesn't include just rape.
The other problem is other then actual surveys, the studies done actually don't usually tell you the specific percentage of rape. By that I mean if they say 10,000 people are sexually assaulted it won't say what percentage of those were rapes.
So from the various stuff I just read..I can definitely see how one might conclude either just as many or more men are raped each year compared to women.

the male rape statistics would be skewed in prison because there is no such thing as consensual sex in prison. it would be reported as rape or inappropriate contact etc. just like there is no such thing as defending yourself in prison, you would still be reported for fighting even if you were defending yourself.

well. i have the stats from my job which is highly reliable and I DID NOT FACTOR JUVENILE. however, i'll be back with some sources. i'm about to go to the gym and handle business.
once again...juvenile stats should be quite different than the ones regarding adults.

The overall point here though, or what we all should take away from this is..a whole shitload of male rape goes down and it's comparable to females and it's not really talked about as much and is more or less just accepted by us as a part of prison life I guess.
So what we take away from this is that if is there is a rape culture it's not really against women.
