So it's like The Last Jedi, makes a lot of money while not being very good.

Still, it's good for the MCU overall. Though it encourages mediocre film making.

You did not see it and jumped the gun with your conservatism hate agenda. Controversy sells and this sold the film better with awareness. Biggest intro entry film of all time. BP was not an intro film due to Civil War.

You hear posters here say it was solid because it was. It is profitable after its first weekend. Another hit. Money talks not silly targeting of a film to bring down the audience score.

Yeah, politics really drive him in all phases. Anyone who would not go see the film to judge on their own is a fan the MCU does not need. It is negative successful and I bet this eats at him. Republicans not only buy sneakers too they buy MCU tickets in droves.

😂

That’s the big takeaway from the opening weekend of “Captain Marvel,” the studio’s first comic-book movie to put the spotlight on a female heroine. “Captain Marvel” — starring Brie Larson — debuted with a mighty $455 million globally, the sixth best start for a movie of all time. Larson’s Carol Danvers is in rarefied company among her Spandexed cohorts: “Captain Marvel” ranks as the second-biggest launch for a superhero movie worldwide, behind “Avengers: Infinity War.” -snip

That pretty much guarantees we'll have a Captain Marvel sequel; likely a trilogy.

True test will be second weekend. If the staying power is there.

Edit -

You poop chunks are cluttering up the thread with more BS, again. I came here to talk about a movie.

As always, Bruce Skywalker, don't let the riff-raff rile you up. 🙁

Let's talk about the movie, Pretty Please? cry

Final numbers are the true test and profitability. John campea said it already turned a profit. Mcu brand is strong.

This could make close to a billion (900ish) when all is said and done; that’s good. BP made 1.3, but that was also a better film (IMO) and had the advantage of the main character being in Civil War previously.

DDM is correct in regards to how well week two does, as it relates to where this will end up.

Okay, so weird thing...I ended up seeing the movie last night lol.

I gotta say that I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. This wasn't anywhere near as bad as Last Jedi.

I feel it wasn't bad but more like meh. A 5 out of 10 for me. There were a few cringe moments(the post credits scene), but it wasn't so bad. It's something I'd say at least deserves a chance to tell more of the story. Given the money it's made that's guaranteed.

So you buckled and gave in. Good submissive lad. Mcu wins in the end. As always. Brie was solid as was her chemistry with Sam. Perfect setup for Thanos. Bring her on.

Guys, try to edit posts when you can. Double or even triple posts clog up the page.

Also, try to be civil. Bashing gets people banned.

She goes Super Saiyan. It made me want a quality DBZ film. Then it made me remember the live action DBZ. Now I'm haunted.

Feige was correct about her power level being ridiculous.

Even the cat can

Spoiler:
swallow an infinity stone.

Edit out the spoiler for anyone who did not see the film.

Honestly, I don't think she's more powerful than IW Thor.

Spoiler:
Thor could have destroyed those Kree missiles and ships with ease.

Thinking about it, IW Iron Man could likely as well.

The case around it allows weaker beings to handle it.

Spoiler:
But the cat is some sort of super-powerful creature capable of swallowing beings 100x its own size.

Probably. She has had twenty years since then, but who knows what the Russos have planned.

My question is...is his new weapon more powerful than his hammer or is this a result of his essentially getting his god powerup in Ragnarok, thus allowing him to use these kinds of weapons more effectively?

Absolutely, I expect a power-jump in her like we get in most all the characters in subsequent films/showings.

Kevin Feige already said she was and her at the end of the film supports it.

Could be argued either way. But I'd bet it's a bit of both. Etri did say it was a weapon made for a king or similar. Implying that pre Ragnarok Thor would not have been worthy of Stormbringer.

edit: Then again, Mjolnir was destroyed by Hella, while Stormbringer went through a full IF gauntlet blast like it was nothing more than a rainbow, so SB is clearly more powerful
