Poe got a bunch of people killed. The moment he found out about the plan he blabbed it over an unsecured radio. Holdo was totally right not to tell him the plan. He was incredibly reckless, which she specifically says is why she isn't telling him the plan. Which she was right to do. Plus he started screaming that she was a traitor, you don't sit down after that and let the guy in on your plan.
Originally posted by NephthysThe first time Poe came to talk to Holdo he was calm and just wanted to know what her plan was, but she wouldn't tell him. Then she revealed a piece of the plan, leaving out the major phucking part of it, so it sounded like a terrible plan that would get them all killed. Everything would have been avoided if Holdo told Poe the entire plan when he first came to talk to her...you know, the time when he was calm and humble for a change...

Once he was actually told the whole plan he was like "Oh yea, that's a good idea".

Well he is the best pilot in the galaxy and the guy who took down Starkiller Base.
Well Starkiller Base wasn’t exactly all him. He just took the final shot.
Wasn’t like Luke taking out the First Death Star.
That said, Lando destroyed the 2nd Death Star, but no one seems to give a shit about him.

He'd just gotten 80% of their forces destroyed through insubordination and gotten demoted and he was trying to act as if he still had a place in the decision making process (I think its likely he was hoping she wouldn't know he'd been demoted and was trying to pull one over on her) If she had told him the plan who knows what he'd have done. He may well have strongly disagreed with it or come up with a reckless plan of his own to hurt the FO. And he wasn't really being that humble, he tried to explain the situation to her at first as if she didn't know about it and he clearly thought he should have been the leader instead. Sure, acting aggressively towards him turned out to not be the right call but she had every justification to do so considering what he'd just done.
Everything would have been avoided if Poe hadn't of flown off the handle and had trusted Leia's trust in Holdo. Poe had just proven himself to be reckless and insubordinate. Holdo had no reason to tell him the plan nor obligation to do so.

I though the real problem was that a lot of the other resistance fighters didn't know what was going on either and Admiral Mgenta's partial explanation did sound like a terrible plan. Granted she didn't need to tell Poe but some sort of information could have been given. This miscommunication lead to 30-45 minutes of wasting the audience's time.
The resistance or even the rebel fighters have always been this reckless against all odds kind of crew. Poe was actually annoying in this film especially if you had to work with him. Poe's skill though is why they'd just put up with it. It's no different than a sports star who gets preferential treatment. It makes complete sense especially due to their dwindling numbers.
The weird thing is the film seems to want to have it both ways. Poe helps destroy the Dreadnaught at the cost of a significant portion of their forces. This leads Holdo to not trust him though at the same time not really doing anything to impede him should he try something.
When Poe did get a huge percentage killed with his utterly terrible hacker plan in addition to staging a full on mutiny, nothing was really done to him at all. It seems he is destined to be the new leader of the rebellion and all he did was fail lol.
