Im taking context out of it for a sec.

Just saying (sans the context), we have already seen that happen, which takes away a little from their “climactic” showdown in Ep.9 Imo.

i see what you mean. the tension in that ep9 scenario would definitely have to be of a different variety than we're used to.

Since the climax of the trilogy doesn't come down to a fully Luke trained Rey versus a Snoke trained Kylo, the hype/potential for it isn't really there, unless they get more powerful on their own by then to give a good fight.

They should have just kept the original canon...this new canon is silly and for kids.

muy muy! meesa agree! new-sa trilogy is for a being muy childish. oh no meesa stepin in doodoo!

Well Rey has those Jedi texts to study and possibly Lukes Force ghost can teach her as well.

I think Kylos fully trained, but would achieve Mastery over time.

Spoiler alert

I thought Yodas force ghost destroyed the texts?

Some of them were salvaged by Rey, weren't they?

I think they all were. Pretty sure Yoda was aware that they were gone before he smoked that tree.

Don't think she took them all, just the most important ones.

In a very subtle scene Poe opens a drawer on the Falcon with the books there. Hence Rey took them with her, and Yoda must have known that “there was nothing in those books that the girl Rey does not already possess”

Yoda has the best ghost magic.

Is it true that Kathleen Kennedy said that Star Wars doesn't need to cater to male fans, and more recently that women can't identify with Luke Skywalker? Things are suddenly more clear now in which case, like why TLJ was mostly a political statement... Forget Johnson or Abrams, that she-devil's the worst of the bunch.

I mean yeah, something as big as Star Wars doesn't need to cater to one certain demographic, but if someone in her position said that SW didn't need to cater to women, you know there'd be a meltdown... Kennedy's agenda has been obvious for awhile though I guess, so it's whatever at this point.

I mean theres no issue with the lead being a female hero. Thats actually a nice change Imo.
Just make her go through the Heroes Journey like Luke did, and like every classic hero does, and grow her into a proper (but believable) bad ass by the end of it.

But this Mary Sue shit is just terrible.

Imagine if they did that with Luke in Episode 4, Straight up whooped Vader's ass after he killed Kenobi.

Well it helped that Vader wasn’t Kylo. Speaking of... Luke still sees the good in Vader when no one else does, but considers killing Ben Solo after just one bad vision? ffs I’m still glad that they toned down Rey in TLJ at least, but all the other problems are still there.

The spinoff films seem to be the last hope of experiencing that special feel of Star Wars magic again. TLJ was the first time I saw a good many say that they they felt none of it after they walked out of the movie, which had never happened before, and I feel for them to a certain extent.

Red flags were going up for me when I saw the writer or the producer of the movie wearing "the force is female" t-shirts.

I don't think SW's needs to cater to males, they need to cater to...Star Wars fans. The feminist bullshit doesn't do that. I know at least a few women who just didn't like Star Wars at all, but that magically changed after this last movie came out. The question is why? What did this movie have that other SW's movies lacked?

I wonder if Star Wars is going to go through the same thing as some Marvel comics did. You had SJWs whine over the content, it eventually got changed, but the problem is the people whining were never comic fans to begin with. And the actual loyal comic book readers were not interested in that BS. So the people complaining never intended to read the comics, and the people actually reading them had no interest in the changes, so sales dipped. Then instead of creating new characters in the name of diversity they merely...altered current characters, giving them gender or race swaps.

I hope Star Wars doesn't go the same way. Episode 9 will truly confirm if it has.

Not looking forward to Ep IX, there's just too much stuff that needs to get fixed. Abrams will be working overtime and I still doubt he can manage to do that.

Still hoping Solo will be somewhat good, though.

I think for the next trilogy (yes they're making a new one) they should delve into the old republic

I'll be honest I haven't seen TLJ but it sounds decent not great.

Rian Johnson is doing it... 🙁
