#Aquaman officially broke the $750M global #boxoffice mark last night. Intl wknd numbers came in above projections at $88.4M putting the intl total at $562.4M and the worldwide haul thru SUN at $751.8M. Will shatter the $800M mark on #NewYearsDay on its way to $900M...then $1B+.

Ok. After having seen Aquaman now. (which I thought was great) I have only 1 Plot Question... And it is...

Spoiler:
Did they give or show the reason for why the russians had to abandon the sub After Aquaman defeated Manta and his crew?

Forbes also predicting a Billion:

Good man James Wan:

Who would have thought Aquadude would be the highest grossing DC movie of all time. And beat a movie with Spidey and Ironman. 😱

Unadjusted.

This is the same thing that happened with Wonder Woman, DC finally made a decent movie and it's causing everyone to go nuts. give the excitement time to wear off and people will be saying. yea, it's a good movie but nothing special on it's own.

WW was great though. AM was all spectacle.

SO just like the Marvel Movies then!?

Gotchya

It was the DCEU's best movie by a fairly wide margin, but people were talking about it like it was the best movie ever made for months after it came out until the excitement of DC finally making a good movie wore off.

Things like that always wear off. Doesn't mean it's not a great movie. I'd rank it near the top, in terms of super-hero films. To each their own.

Aquaman's box office is being helped by the Holidays and not having strong competition. Also 2 weeks straight with long holidays weekends.

Aquaman is not the first movie to hit it big during the holidays and it won't be the last.

There is a big reason why studios want films in the holiday window.

Lol @ people getting insecure over this making money.

Anyway just saw Bumblebee. Thats the best film out right now (out of the ones ive seen), for those bothered about quality.

Bumblebee is great. I was surprised honestly.

Not having strong competition? Lmao. People here were complaining that WB was stupid for releasing it next to Bumblebee, Marry Poppins, Spider-Verse, etc... anyway,

Aquaman is going to beat Venom to become the 5th highest-grossing import film ever in China during later part of Jan.1, 2019. If things go on like this, James Wan will be the first foreign director who owns two ¥2 billion level works in China. #Aquaman

Their bias really shows. They can't handle DC having a all round successful movie.

Bumblebee not competition? Are these boys on crack? Spider-Man not competition?
