- Second - You said competition. As of now there isnt much of it. Its good that the DCEU made another movie that wasnt complete garbage. There are 6 movies so far in the DCEU and 4 have been pretty shitty and 2 have been average to above average. This is a step in the right direction, but some are getting ahead of themselves.
You cant really compare universes to another like the MCU where there have been 20 movies and they all have been average to great. You are trying to compare 2 to 20 (or so). Even if you think some MCU movies were bad, it still isnt a fair comparison.
If the DCEU continues not making multiple serviceable movies in a row without any stinkers for lets say a more couple years then we can start to compare the universes. As of now it isnt a fair comparison.
Also the 2 movies that were serviceable in the DCEU, were movies that had little to nothing to do with the DCEU story line. They were pretty much stand alone movies.
Plus with Cavil and Afleck probably out, their best bet is to stick with more stand alone movies than continue on a tarnished overall DCEU story line.
^ Oh the DCEU itself is a failure up to this point. Aquaman would have done just as well (if not better) with a different actor. IOW as a rebooted stand alone franchise.

The thing is that DC comic book movies have been top dog in the 70's, the 80's, the 90's and 2000's. Barely in the 2010's did Marvel comic book movies take over. And certain DC die hards (like Alhbi, Golgo and the groups they hang with) are losing their minds , raging , like "THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING!, I will not stand for this.". lol Jesus how selfish can peeps be.
I mean even to the point of making hate groups to bring down scores and other retarded stuff like that. 😬

Im just stating facts. Justice League proved the failure of the shared Universe. Some will say BvS proved it when it couldnt hit a billion.
And Aquamans success was almost unrelated to the DCEU.
But its good they have finally learned to focus on solo movies first before jumping in to the superhero team ups. That first strategy of theirs was just a quick cash grab. And it wasnt even much cash that they grabbed from doing that.

I meant overseas. Aquaman will be bigger international/China than panther, while Panther is bigger domestically. BTW, Aquaman is one out of a handful of heroes to join the billion dollar club. Pretty neat.
