How so? Keep in mind that you went from not caring for Aquaman, thinking it kinda sucked and thiking Wan failed you to now Aquaman being a masterpiece.

My bad. I look at their average movies, not just one or two. Wan has more films that I like, compared to Mr Jon.

Btw, I think his best movie is Chef, not Iron Man.

Right.

Anyhow, how is Wan a superior director to Favreau?

Wan dials go to Wan billion. 😛

Dollars earned doesn't mean better director. eg I don't think any Scorsese film has broken a billion, but The Departed, Goodfellas and Aviator are above and beyond anything Wan has directed and that's a fact.

Scorsese would also beat up Wan.

Martin would put him in a 'Queen's Clinch' and that would be that.

I never said that. I'm looking at their entire filmography. To be honest, Wan isn't even in my top 20 favorite directors, but his contribution to film is undeniable. In my humble opinion, it's harder to pull off a good horror movie, than it is comedy (I'm just comparing early careers at this point, because that's all Jon did). You need the right type of storyteller, cinematography, and other horror elements to do what Wan has done, which is why they call him the new king of horror.

EDITORIALSJames Wan is the Most Important Horror Director of the Last 20 Years

You literally did/implied it with the 'film made more' comment...

Which of his horror films are masterpieces in the genre?

The Wan billion joke?

Both the conjuring movies are near perfect, imo. And I generally hate modern horror. I find them boring.

Saw was a cult classic, too. A smart horror that spawned a lot of shit sequels.

Jon's hits the higher quality with his best films IMO but James is the better creator so far with his successful horror franchises.

Hopefully Jon can do good with the Mandalorian.

Enjoyed the first Saw flick, was neat and new at the time, the mastermind-villain being in the room the whole time was a nice touch.

The Conjuring was okay, certainly not a masterpiece. The sequel was worse.

I actually loved the sequel a lot more. It has a great RT score, if that's your thing. Anyway, my top 20 directors, in no order, for the exception of the top 2:

1. Alfred Hitchcock
2. Billy Wilder
3.scorsese
4. Wes Anderson
5. Dario Argento
6. Clint Eastwood
7. Gerorge Romero
8. Spielberg
9. Sergio Martino
10. Kubrick
11. Sergio Leone
12. Jim Jarmush
13. Daren Aronofsky
14. Frank Darabont
15. Quentin Tarantino
16. David Fincher
17. Kurosawa
18. Miyazaki
19. Ridley Scott
20. Chaplin/Gibson

Ones that didnt make the cut:

Brian De Palm
Terry Gilliam
David Lean
De Sica
Ron Haward

Seriously no offence to the guy, but who couldnt take Wan in a fight? He looks like a skinny hobbit.

No need to be rude. Sheesh.

You're working as Wan's bodyguard now, too?

Damn, WB/DC is sure keeping you busy these days 😉

Sad to see so many OK with Anti Asian Racism.

Definitely not cool.

Why did Momoa perform a Haka/Maori dance in the premiere? He isnt Maori. Hes German /Samoan raised in Iowa. Maoir or Islanders are not even featured in this movie or have anything to do with it.
Besides Temuera, but his heritage isnt even brought up in the film (that i remember), so his character in the movie is just an American dude that lives in a light house. Why is this movie pushing the Maori/Islander card?

Aquaman is all about cultural appropriation.

Nah. They gave us all our trash back.
