That first one does NOT paint the airline in a good light, imo.
The second one still doesn't do a great job, imo.
They refunded his ticket, so it does suggest that in the end they found that he wasn't guilty of anything, and it still sounds like they were really jumping the gun by pulling him off.

How can you or anyone else who did change rushing to judgmenet when you only have one chance.
What are you even talking about?

Does it shock you the media would try to frame this as racist? Also if he was legitimately saying suspicious and threatening things..what should have been done?
It's bigoted, as fact.
He's apparently not a terrorist, so what's your point? As noted, the airline can't help what a passenger reports and they have an obligation to investigate. Which should have lead them to see that this guy didn't have weapons and was safe to fly.

Would it have been biggoted to kick off the 9/11 Hijackers?

Considering they were armed with weapons and if someone reported them and the authorities checked them out like they did this guy, no, it would have been founded.
9/11 doesn't give carte blanche for bigotry against Muslims.

I'm so tired of people citing 9/11 as a reason to be anti-Muslim.
You know this is wrong. If someone detects a threat on a plane, you are legally obligated to report it, end of story. If someone even says the word "bomb" or "explosion" on a plane, it gets you thrown off and investigated.
This story is just another bullshit story geared to gin up racism and stupid ideas.

Okay so whatever you want to call it, does it truly shock you the media would try to frame something as such..even if it wasn't?

They have an obligation to investigate, but in what way would you have done that? The only way to know he had no weapons would be to cavity search him. Or at least a pat down. Then if they found no weapons, they let him back on the flight.
Maybe I'm just cynical, but I feel like if they had pulled this guy aside and strip searched him for weapons and then sent him back on his merry way..I feel like this would still be a story, just not as big of a story. I feel like people would still have issues that he was pulled aside at all.
The Arab speaking person who reported this guy is the one to blame if he even needs to be, if he heard something suspicious, it was his obligation to, not the airline or the pilot, who is taking the word of the person who heard what was said.
Thats why I said "Better safe then sorry."
But I guess this guys suspicious phone and safe space due to "racism, or biggotry" call was more important then then all the people on that plane.
Here is a question for everyone: what if the man was overheard talking about joining ISIS, but he was also found to have zero weapons on him?
In such a situation, what should happen? I'm not saying the guy was talking about joining it, btw. Just curious how some think the situation should be handled.
