well yes it did seem to be an attempt to shift attention to a seemingly unimportant context...when said context really doesn't diminish her words as it relates to the current general context. maybe if trump had hit her with that instead of "hur dur she blame lincoln" he might have wounded her case, instead of a just making people giggle with another silly-yet-false one liner.

It's true she didn't blame Lincoln. She just more or less did a "Lincoln did id too" defense.

In other words "Lincoln was two faced in getting the 13th amendment passed, thus me being two faced isn't so bad" was the general theme.

Pretty much a lie, he did wound her with it, as its all over the news and everyone is running in on all channels.

it was more of a try at 'all politicians are 2 faced, even lincoln'. a shitty thing to say, but also 100% accurate.
