A spark can *definitely* support the ignition/combustion of a flammable liquid. However, a bullet pierces the tank so quickly that sparks are rarely generated, OR they simply dissipate so quickly that the gasses never have a chance to ignite.

This would be the case with Rick's Colt. A .357 Magnum would rip through a fuel tank like a hot knife through butter.

Not all of the liquid at once when in a container. A flame above the liquid, sure. If you spread the equal amount of liquid out, also sure

So all I get, is that Delphguyver is going to waste his ammo shooting at cars, hoping to set their alarms off, or set them ablaze.

Now for real, I'd take Lucille. Rick's revolver is a death sentence if you're on your own, Michonne's katana is nice but it can get stuck fairly easily if not careful, Daryl's crossbow is kind of cool but not too practical as the cadence is horrible and finally the riot gear is next to useless. Lucille on the other hand can't get broken, is fairly stealthy, packs a good punch if used right and what's more important: is a fücking vampire bat.

Actually...The GUN could WORK! You just have to find a nice spot, figure out a escape route, go back and shoot the gun off a couple of time and just wait for every Zombo in the city to use its Super Audio Source Pin Pointing abiltiy and once every Zombo is there you just casually walk out of the city.

Riot gear will NOT prevent you from getting killed if you are swarmed. It could help you withstand bites and such if one or two of them attacked you, but if a *group* gets ahold of you like that, you're f*cked.

A crossbow would be a great weapon to have as long as you didn't need to fight multiple Walkers in close quarters. The reload time is a big hindrance there.

Granted, it can also be used to bludgeon Walkers, but it is quite cumbersome and not really suited for that type of combat(not to mention that you could easily damage the bow if you were flailing it around as a melee weapon.)

Lucille is the only option for those who're seeking to die of old age. The OP stipulates that the weapon you choose is the ONLY weapon that you'll ever be able to use again... you can't even pick up a rock off the ground to use later on. So even if takes 10 or 15 years for a weapon to break, rust, or otherwise become unusual, EVENTUALLY you'll be totally helpless if you choose anything other than the bat.

Of the list its a toss between the gun and the bat.

At least with the gun you could commit suicide if you get bitten. Not to easy to bash your own head in with a bat.

...although I would prefer a nice solid crowbar over a bat.

my mother has my grandad's rifle from Vietnam and the thing still works. I'm pretty sure a modern gun can last for 60+ years as well if you clean it.
