Source?

Nothing is certain in an ever-expanding lore! Nothing. This is similar to how our understanding of realities around us continue to improve with passage of time and new findings invalidate older theories and assumptions.

Correct. But when there's no discoveries that would invalidate older theories, we go by the older theories. The SW continuity operates the same: unless a retcon occurs, we go by the older quotes.

You can't just pick a 15 years old source, take its revelations at face value and use it as the source to critic new content. What is stated in a much older source is valid for the content of that time only. When new super-strong characters are introduced in new content, they create room for debate and re-evaluation of revelations in older content.

Given that there's nothing about Vitiate's novel incarnation that is provably beyond Exar's abilities, I certainly can. Saying I can't simply because TotJ came out first is like saying gravity doesn't exist because it was discovered before relativity, which in no way debunks it.

Heck, I would argue that Darth Nihilus > Exar Kun

I would, too, but I don't see what this has to do with the matter at hand.

That's not a valid reason to dismiss it as hyperbole, lmao, or unless you want to start employing double standards, you'll have to throw every "most powerful" quote in the dumpster, including Revan's and Anakin's. Would that be fine with you?

Simply because you have a personal power hierarchy where Abeloth > Kun doesn't invalidate the quote.

What does, though, is Abeloth's own quotes and feats against characters canonically more powerful than Kun, like Luke.

We've reached a point where there's absolutely no way you could make a post more retarded than this one. mmm

Concession accepted. Isn't that what you always like to say? Or would you care to prove me wrong?

Yo Az, I got dat source for ya.

Now, he [Exar Kun] sought out the only other Sith practitioner who could challenge him -- Ulic Qel Droma.

Jedi Ulic > Vitiate. It's over. 😱

That's clearly referring to the Sith Lords that Exar himself knew of, in this case he really just knows about Qel-Droma and the Keto cousins.

It doesn't say "that he knew" could challenge him darling so no I'm afraid. Now accept the ground realities. 🙁

Don't troll Beni. Although, if you think about it, this actually bumps up the entire goddamn PT era damn high, with most of the high tier Jedi being > Novel Vitiate now. 🙂

I stand corrected. ^

How so? Mace doesn't>Ulic via quote tbh. So how does this effect anything

So Vitiate is too weak to challenge Kun, but neophyte Ulic isn't? I like it 🙂

Not seeing how, but please do elaborate 🙂

Shitiate starting to live up to his name, crikey.

I mean, it's one thing if random fans lowball Vitiate, but to have the actual canon come out with statements like this feels a bit surreal.

Mostly because it's like a dream come true. That abomination of a character should never have been created and is getting every bit the humiliation he deserves. I love it.

Mace by TPM is still canonically the best swordsman and Force user of the Jedi Order bar Yoda and Jedi!Dooku, thus he is > Ulic who is > Novel Vitiate. Then you take into account both Tyranus' and Windu's power-growth, and then characters such as Kenobi who are at least loosely comparable to them and Anakin who is superior to them.

Well... fill in the blanks after this. 🙂

Ulic wasn't a Jedi when he fought Kun. Though I can't imagine he grew that much during such a short period, tbh.

I find it amusing to see that while Beni and Myth are joking about this, Azronger is deadly serious.

He's the PT version of Legend.
