But let me guess: what they ended up doing was original?

No idea, haven't seen the film yet. Waiting to watch it at home as it's never looked good enough for a theater viewing from the previews.

But it seems like a "yes", see below:

Honestly that beginning shocked the hell outta me. Definitely original.

Nope, Scream did it first if you're referring to a character people thought would live being killed off in the beginning.

People are just salty that I came up with a better idea in under 30 seconds.

Look at you thinking you're some original screenwriter. Cute, Capote.

Are you referring to Drew Barrymore's character? Cos everyone knew she'd die, it was beyond obvious.

Never claimed to be, so no need to be upset.

At the time no it was a shock.

Besides, the lack of originality comes from the whole "replacing white male with woke minority female".

No, it was not. It was a given she'd die.

While that's not completely original either, as very few films are, it's more original than bringing back yet another version of John Connor. Which has been done in four of the six Terminator films.

edit: Wait, Furlong appears as John in this, right? That makes it five of the six films we've had cracka ass John in, if it's included

It's not really more original this day and age, but your opinion is noted.

Simple maths prove you wrong as 4 and 5 are both greater than 1. This fact will not be debated.

No, you haven't proved anyone wrong, but your opinion has been noted 👆

Whatever helps you alter reality so 4 and 5 are not greater than 1.

Anyhow, what safe non triggering cis White male would you have cast in this imagined "original!" story line you people poofed up?

edit: And no, Chris Pratt would have been busy

I did not comment on how the films compare to other films in the franchise when it comes to overall quality, I commented that what was done was not more original.

I don't know who I'd cast. Probably Chris Pratt cuz it'd trigger you. If he was busy? Just wait until he's free 🙂

After all there is nothing saying we needed the movie this very second. If we did, maybe cast Benedict Cumberbatch?!?!?!

The best Connor and savior of humanity will always be Michael Edwards.

Why would Chris Pratt trigger me? I like him as an actor and he's a no go because he would have been busy filming 'The Kid' and 'Avengers: End Game'. Hence me saying "busy". Weird.

Why single him out then?

Because you would have picked him and honestly, he'd probably make a decent John Connor in a well written Terminator film/reboot.

I still dont get why it matters what colour/sex humanitys new hope is.

I mean our Male Prime Minister was replaced by a Female Prime Minister in 2016 (Male again now this year).

Our new Chancellor this year is Pakistani Asain. He replaced a White dude.

You guys replaced a White President with a Coloured one, and now youre back to White.

So the idea that the new guy May not be white and may not even be a guy just seems realistic to me. Thats why I dont see any agenda here.

Because they feel threatened.

So first what we're gonna get out of the way here is the acknowledgement that nothing you said makes the idea to replace John with a woke female minority original.

And we're talking about wokeness, you've inquired in the past what is woke about it. Replacing a white male with a minority female character screams wokeness. That is the woke agenda. The question is if it doesn't matter why did it need to be done in the first place?
