Unfortunately, and, nah.

Who ever punched their woman hardest. That's the real debate. There's a case for both.

Is there?
Dont recall Popeye ever hitting Olive, much as she played him and Bluto against each other.

Jeepers, Bluto smacking Popeye down to the thickness of a coin using just his chest? That's some crazy feat in itself.

More supplementary questions: is spinach universally strength-enhancing in the Popeye-verse (and have Bluto and Olive ever tried it? Wasn't there also a guy who used to eat tons of hamburgers and had a funny-looking nose, or am I confusing my cartoons?)

I think Sweepea once ate spinach and powered up; possibly Popeye's pappy too, iirc. So there may be a benefit to those genetically related to the Popster.

As for Whimpy, the hamburger guy, who'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today: nah, it didn't make him stronger. He just got in trouble trying to get burgers.

As for this thread... HHH: Hulk hits harder, but Popeye has more versatile punches.

Thats a compromise i could live with.

Yeah...that is surprisingly, orthodoxly accurate and a good compromise

Popeyes dad was even stronger than he was.

If Popeye ever hit Olive it probably had the result of causing her to simultaneously have an orgasm, become pregnant, and give birth. The kid most likely popped out already raised and ready to enter the workplace.

Popeye doesn't have time to raise kids, he punches reality itself and has it do it for him.

So let it be done!
