I still don't get why companies are doing this sort of thing, if it's for political reasons...why? The last thing I'm thinking of when I go to Home Depot is the 'plight' of...whatever the hell is going on in the country(I don't really give a *** about politics anyway honestly), what I think of when I go to Home Depot is trying to figure out what doorknob I should get to replace the old ruined rusted one that barely worked.

The boycott is for putting ads on Facebook.

They want companies to boycott until Facebook has fully bent the knee.

Facebook is one of the most successful social networks in the world, and among those with the longest reach.

It's no wonder everyone wants to get a piece of them. If you can't buy them, can't regulate them, and can't force a hostile takeover, you go after their affiliates.

.....Riiight....well I would hope that any remaining companies would come to realize doing that, would potentially see the loss of money.

To refuse is to be branded a racist organization.

That has killed companies. At the least, it hurts bottom lines.

This is so important now, that the biggest investment firms are forcing the NFL to change the name of the Washington Redskins.

It does seem kind of strange to see investment firms pressuring football.

Its highly profitable as is. Makes you wonder if this is really about inclusive stuff? Or if there's a hidden angle.. Either some way to worm money out of them, or a way to force regulation.

I don't think any of these companies truly care about being inclusive. They just don't want to be crucified by the woke mobs.

Also @cdtm I still can't believe that they are pushing for that football team name change, it's just dumb.

They aren't even consistent about the name changing stuff.

New York City was named after a King who was pro slavery.

The Washington Post is named after a slave owner.

Neither of these things will be renamed nor will there even be calls for it.

I bet some of this push is at least partially driven by Native American money though. Some tribes make so much money off casinos, how much do you want to bet they make up a good amount of these "Large Investment Firms" we keep hearing about?

That's likely one common denominator in general, wherever there is a cause trending media, there is a member of that group with very deep pockets passing around a lot of dough.

Washington D.C. named for both Washington and Columbus. So anyone who wants to make it a state is just a vile racist.

I mean, the team has been around since the 30s...at that point, I feel like...just seems kinda late on that front.

Also that's another thing about the Natives, they have all these casinos and some are rich as all ***. So clearly not all of them are doing terrible like many would believe, sure their land was 'taken' as it were...yet here they have land with casinos that rake in the money like a waterfall.

Speaking of native americans, a few blocks away from my house there was this cigar shop on the corner and on the roof it had a giant statue of a native american.

But they sold it or something to a shop right by it for an eye doctor, and...well, they did this:

Oh that video pertains. Despite the title(which I did not create) this thread can contain stuff people think is: funny, sad, interesting, and yes people are free to post stuff that legit triggers them. Or it can just be a place to discuss something someone doesn't feel warrants its own specific topic.

But yeah, that is weird to me. They don't seem to be sure what the 4th of july is about. And more than one person seems to think we achieved independence sometime in the 1950s-1960s
