So Trump is as bad as Obama?

Dude, come on. Did you read what I said? I was talking about him not naming Islamic terrorism, the refusal. And the Democrats who said there was no point to name it as it didn't help, so people shouldn't care that he doesn't say it.

That's hypocrisy 101 my friend. I'm sick and tired of the selective memory of the left. Pointing out this hypocrisy does not in any way, shape, or form mean I am comparing the entire presidency of these two. One of which has only been in office for 6 months while the other had 8 years.

Please leave the strawmen at home next time.

The issue isnt trump. Its the underlying racist and phobic ebb thats been seeping thru the states since 9/11. Its just peaking
There is no one factor

Indeed, and the road we go down if we blame Trump is then we blame the Democrats for the Scalise shooting. Their rhetoric of how Republicans are gonna kill millions of americans via health care cuts, the media comparing him to Sadam Hussein, Mussolini, and even after the shooting the other day we had a high ranking DNC member saying he is not as responsible a person as Kim Jong Un lol. (he has executed people for slouching in a meeting).

Where is the outrage over that rhetoric? *crickets chirping*

This event itself is a tragedy, but I can't help finding Trump's tweet about it amusing. Not the tweet itself, but the reaction. The man seriously can't win. His tweet pissed off both white supremacists and people vehemently against white supremacy with 1 tweet lol.

People keep saying things he does aren't "presidential". But that played a role in him winning the election. People were not happy with the past administrations, they wanted something different.

And they got something different, good and hard. 🙁

Indeed, at least Clinton is off in a forest somewhere and not in the White House 👆

Right, I wonder how long it would have taken her to call out this terrorist attack. Can we get an ETA on Trump doing so, and furthermore when he plans to take action?

Trump emboldens these guys. That goes without question. The KKK supporters moments after made statements about how they're finally taking back this country (From who?) and how they finally have a President on their side. Supporting Trump doesn't make you racist but racists support Trump. His idealogies and tactics clearly have fascist footholds.

It's not even about being democratic or republican. It's just being honest.

I won't deny that Trump emboldens these guys, but you've got to remember that when he began his presidency the country had just had 8 years where the other side felt emboldened to push the "all white people are evil" narrative. So much so that the country was shocked by Trump being elected because so many of his supporters were afraid to admit tell the people running polls who they were voting for. A person who feels that they are now able to voice their legally protected opinions is certainly going to feeler bolder when he/she does so. And when we allow that, the extreme and unstable within the group are going to do bad things. It happened with Obama, and now it's happening with Trump.

Yout post makes ZERO sense

This isnt a party issue Surtur. Its deeper than that. Its anti-police, its fear or islam, its fear of gays, its intolerance, its extreme feminism, its dumb ass people who point the finger and refuse to look in the mirror.

I listened to two idiots (whites) say we should bomb tf out of Korea to teach those *racial term* a lesson. Neither of these guys served and one just got out of prison. When i asked if theyd go to war they said no, they arent robots.

My neighbor (a black guy) constantly berates the spanish guys in my neighborhood whom he claims are stealing all our jobs. I asked him did he wanted to cut grass he said F no, hes an IT specialist.

This androgynous non binary transgendered white woman and this lesbian gender neutral obese asian woman who i work with recently told me all men should die. I asked y because men are evil and women should breed with themselves.

These two alt right mexican american guys who are in the army that i shoot pool with from time to time said ALL BLM members are terrorists and should go back to Africa if they dont like it here.

Stuff like this permeates this country. On every level. The reality is that we as Americans are a bunch of intolerant uneducated douchebags who CONSTANTLY deflect and finger point.

No fool, America is the greatest country on the planet. uhuh

No it is not. America is a phucked up country. The ONLY time we ever unite is against a foreign threat period.

Everyone knows when White Supremacist commit acts of terror, they're just not very good people; that is all.

Black people though, they're "thugs"
Mexicans are "murderers and rapist"
Muslims are defacto "terrorist"

Why are you seeking a more elaborate insult against them? "White Supremacist" on it's own is already a slur against people.

White Supremacist refer to themselves as such, they view it as a badge of honor. Stop being silly, kthx

And lot's of "Gangstas" already identify as and call themselves Thugs... do we need to come up with something even worse for them too? I mean Hell, they already sing songs about it...

Actually, there's plenty of insults being thrown at black people besides "thugs". So it seems you're just upset White Supremacist are being picked on. Weird.

But my point before you tried to befuddle it, we should call them "terrorist" as well.

I'm not upset, I'm just saying that there's not much point. "White Supremacist" is already an insult. Not to them, just as "Thug" isn't an insult to those who actually qualify as such, but to the population as a whole it is. And it's not like "White Supremacist" is the only derogatory name that gets used. "Facist", "Nazi", "Cracker"... these are all words that we've chosen to carry negative connotations and all of them get used. It's just that the bad people choose not to care so coming up with new ones seems pointless. We might as well just start calling black and Mexican gang members terrorists too. Overusing a word takes away from it's meaning.

You're free to not call White Supremacist who commits acts of terror as "terrorist". Trump doesn't.

TBF though, "White Supremacy" in of itself is fear/terror based, so we should probably just call anyone who worships this idelogy a terrorist. Again, youre free to not do so.

If you want to really insult someone just call them what ever the opposite of their political affiliation is.

I'm not against people using the word to descibe a person who actually qualifies, I just don't think it should be THE label for them without proof that they fit the bill. And I don't think it should be held against people who don't use the term to describe something that happened in more of a "heat of the moment" type situation.

And as far as I know, the whole "white supremacy" thing isn't inherently based on inspiring fear and terror. There are sects of it that are against violence and such and simply want to be isolated from minorities. Keep in mind, that's simply something that I've seen on TV so it's entirely possible that the sects don't actually exist outside the realm of fiction, but I've been under that impression for quite a while.
