Lol, well, we don't know yet what Martin intends them to be. Even books like the World of Ice and Fire don't explain that yet 🙂 (And yes, I guess I am a nerd when I research things 😛 )

It's an implacatable force right now. In a visual medium, you need a face for evil, someone to hate. In a written medium, you are more free to wait out for a big reveal, or even just keep the forces of evil mysterious. Star Trek did this with the Borg throught the Next Generation, until Voyager and First Contact gave the Borg a face.

Well I can bet 100% that they are not Creations of the COTF. In the shows we are depicted how the COTF were battling the First Men and made the White Walkers in order to win the war....Which is IMPOSSIBLE, because the COTF and the First Men had already signed the peace when the WW first Came.

Also in the books they are depicted as magical beings, elegant, and pristine. In the Shows they look just ugly.

Also remember that in the Books we are introduce with the Great Other. He on the other had, could be the Sauron's version in ASOIF. We haven't seen of him yet so i guess we will have to wait for the Winds of Winter to come.

Ignoring the new GoT-tards' utterly cringeworthy argumentum ad nauseum and ALL CAPS postings, what exactly stops Sauron from just TKing the bastard, or just smacking him with his mace?

Josh says he can't use TK and his mace won't hurt him.
