Well, of course, but the box office heavily follows domestic, since that's where the studio gets most of its revenue. Domestic is the most popular and will be that way for a long time. Its the number one market for film.
Domestic is the better comparison medium when films are made years or decades apart. Counting for inflation of course.
But when 2 movies are out the same year, same summer in fact, then of course we compare worldwide gross to see which film was bigger.
Why wouldn't we compare worldwide? Lol

I'm not saying to NOT compare world wide. I'm going by domestic for the reasons I mentioned.
And I'm saying Domestic is the most important single market, and that Wonder Woman's dominance of that 1 market is certainly worth mentioning, and even praising.
But end of the day worldwide counts more. Hence why you and Abhi have been harping on about how the Worldwide totals of the first 4 DCEU films trumps the worldwide totals for the first 4 MCU films. Even though inflation adjusted domestic total is the better comparison for films separated by several years.
You're both also pretending name recognition doesn't matter which I've debunked with Spider-Man Homecoming's gross.

And even when Spider-Man beat Wondy WW, WW is still in spitting distance. Wonder Woman saved the summer and everyone knows it. It's domestic run is one for the history books.
And that's her first movie. I wonder what the sequel will do.

It's "spitting distance" for now. Will be soundly beaten if it passes Guardians2.
You do remember how huge the first Spider-Man was right? WW was the final big Iconic comic book character to bring to the big screen.

Homecoming made most of its money, so spitting distance. Spidey is easily the biggest thing Marvel has, so its not really a surprise. Wonder woman winning the domestic crown is. Pretty simple.
