While I'm glad he's doing Squad 2 and Guardians 3 I have to say I wasn't a fan of Guardians 2.

After my first viewing I didn't like it, but it grew on me after I saw it a few more times.
Same here. I liked it a lot more on second viewing and it continues to get better and better.
Although I still find Drax to be a little odd because in the first film he was so dark trying to get vengeance for his family, and he didn't understand metaphor, but in the sequel he seems to laugh at every little thing and even seems to have a better grasp with metaphor. So that's a little odd.
But yeah, it's a great sequel and has more classic lines and amusing character moments. "I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!"
I will admit that I did miss Adult Groot. I'm not as big a fan of Baby Groot. I'm assuming he'll be fully grown again in Vol. 3, so I'm looking forward to that.

I found Guardians 2 a little tedious sometimes. Like it opens with the dancing groot and like a weird rehash of other jokes from the first movie and I thought "Oh we're just doing it again then yeah."However, I think 3 will be a serious improvement.
Oh yeah I still dislike the opening. It's cringe-worthy. The movie picks up right around when Kurt Russell shows up.

Agreed. Guardians 2 was pretty awful. Probably the worst MCU film save Thor:TDW IMO.

Meh, I'm take it or leave it with Gunn. Besides Dr. Strange 2, I'm pretty sure that I'm done with the MCU after Endgame
Goddamn, I don't know what y'all are smokin. Dr. Strange was easily one of the worst to me.
I hated that movie. Auros floating around and stupid Beyonce jokes... that was some of the stupidest shit I've ever seen on film. But oddly enough I really liked his contribution to Infinity War.

Surtur is a sucker for nonsensical conspiracy theories. They also paid Gunn 10 million to break the contract then rehire him.
Yeah, I recall the story that was posted here, since Gunn didn't technically break his contract with those ancient Tweets, Disney was looking at between a 7-10mil payout in order to fire Gunn.
So he got that, got hired by Warner DC and then rehired by Disney. All in all, Gunn should send Surt's buddy Mike Cernovich a thank you card and a nice edible arrangement.

Hm.. the most profitable tweets ever?
Best part is I criticized Disney for this move but they fixed it. This is why they are the greatest studio in the land. Sound decisions and not above recorrecting their course after the Gunn error. Alan Horn made it possible for Feige to bring the MCU into everyones lives not just the diehards like myself growing up. Now it has supplanted even Star Wars as the king of cinema.
Make mine marvel.

Honestly, I think a lot of directors would have been much more replaceable and Disney likely wouldn't have rehired them.
But Gunn's vision is so unique with the Guardians movies that it's very difficult to see anyone else taking the reins.
