Star Wars: The Mandalorian - Discussion Thread

That scientist that wanted the Mandalorian to bring baby Yoda in alive has a Kamino symbol on his shoulder. I think I know why they want him so badly.

I also wonder if it has something to do with the Empire kidnapping force sensitive children.

Yeah, I'm sure the underlying motive is to make clones of Yoby due to the species' ridiculous longevity and natural affinity with the force.

Really should use spoiler tags since it’s only been out since yesterday

Yoby? is that his/her canon name?

Lol no. It was just easier than typing "Yoda baby" every time. 😛

Not to sound like an A hole but staying out of discussion threads might be a good idea to avoid spoilers.

I understand and didn’t report anything like a rat. I just think it’s common courtesy is all. Whatever though

When you clone a force user are they still Force sensitive?

In Force unleashed 2 Starkiller is cloned and his clone is force sensitive

Yeah. 👆

No clue how cloning affects force sensitivity in Disney canon though.

I know but he asked and it was the only example I could think of so thought it was worth mentioning, Disney canon may very well be different though as you said

1. That baby is a merchandising dream.
2. If anything happens to it, my sister will lose her ****ing mind.
3. Solid episode, and I liked seeing Jawas played for humour without making them seem less dangerous.

That baby is a more interesting character than any in the sequels...

Anyway, second episode was pretty good as well.

Got around to watching the first episode today.

It was okay. It was tonally clunky with some really cringey dialog and acting (thank God the blue alien from the beginning got carbonited) and frankly I'm finding the protagonist to be honestly pretty uncharismatic. But the action was good, the shootout with IG-11 and the Mandalorian against the dudes was really cool, and when the tone is on-point it works.

Also I hate baby Yoda.

the Yoda baby had like 5 seconds on screen in the first episode, how can you hate it?

Because children and babies shouldn't have prominent roles in drama or action shows or films.

Because I know that they're going to put the baby in "peril" to try to emotionally manipulate me into being invested in what's going on, but the problem is that I can say with just about 99% certainty or more that this phucking baby will have plot armour thicker than your mother's dick.

If they actually have the nuts to kill the baby I'll be shocked.

Doesn’t take a lot to have plot armour thicker than my mother’s dick to be fair

all episodes look to be around 40 to 45 minutes

Yet neither episode thus far has hit those lengths, the pilot came close at 38 but what was it 28 or 29 for the 2nd ep? Not good enough IMO. It worked for Ash Vs Evil Dead but not for this. Eps 1 & 2 should have been combined to be the pilot, would have been around 1 hr and 8 mins something like that, follow that up with 45-50 minute episodes and that would be seriously satisfying television.

Because Nem is a terrible human being. 👆
