What happens if aunt and uncle are actually ALIENS? WHAT HAPPENS IF TRUMP IS AN ALIEN?

WHAT THEN?

Your move, bucko.

Check and mate.

THEN IT'S GOOD WE AT LEAST HAVE GUN'S TO FIGHT BACK IF HE TRIES ANYTHING! lol

Seriously, "follow orders or your family will be killed" isn't something I just made it, it's the type of motivation that Tyrants have used in the past.

WHAT IF THE GUNS ARE ALIENS?

Unfortunately I tend to agree with darthgoober on this.

I think if ever a president was sincerely going to attempt to take full control of the government in a totalitarian manner he would be slow and methodical about it and instill people in charge of the military that he knows would be subservient to him. In which case you'd have to rely on some low level soldiers to buck orders and overthrow not just the president but also the military leadership. In which case, I think most would just follow orders.

Then again, you guys were specifically talking about Trump doing this, which is probably the exception. If ever he did it, it would probably be on a whim without any planning and end up getting overthrown within 15 minutes by a white house intern.

Are you really ignorant of the fact that threats against loved ones is something that's been used in the past by Tyrants against soldiers who refuse to follow orders?

If the President ever goes crazy totalitarian there's hundreds of people in congress and there's judicial courts that can strip him of his powers. The power of US government is divided among so many people and across so much bureaucracy that it would be extremely improbably that any single man could sieze total control.

Not to mention municipal powers and state governments ^^^

No. But then you seem to think that Trump has the charisma to demolish 200+ years of perhaps the most vehement "freedom and democracy" rhetoric instilled into the very fabric of a nation that the modern world has ever known.

Then again, people believe all sorts of conspiratorial garbage in the US nowadays.

It is improbable, but if ever it were happen, the military would be the first thing the president ensured was following him. If he has the military than the other branches don't really matter.

Except that if he does go crazy totalitarian and he controls all the guns then it's easy enough just to have the members of congress and judicial courts who are against him killed or imprisoned.

The American military would never attack its own people though, the idea that they may is the essence of paranoia.

I think some would, and some wouldn't.

IMHO, while one can't say "It could never happen" as fact, the chance of Trump or another President declaring themselves Forever King and America becoming totalitarian is so ridiculousness slim that it's not a good argument against sensible gun reform.

I'd take someone like Palpatine and Trump's more like a saltine.

First of all, he wouldn't need charisma because he'd have all the guns.

Also I don't actually have any fear of Trump becoming a dictator, I only brought him up as an example because so many seem to think that he's Hitler reborn. Forget Trump, what happens if someone who's actually got the charisma, intelligence, and mindset of Hitler ends up as president? You will have already made his job that much easier by disarming the public. I know you want to think that such a thing could never happen in a million years, but then again 6 years ago you prob thought the same thing about Trump getting elected.

How slim did you think Trumps chances of getting elected were after all the crap that came out during the election? What if someone had proposed such a thing years ago?

Being elected in a two person race isn't a miracle of any kind. So...

Just tell me you're channeling TI and it's all a joke.
