Mass Shootings in America Thread

Oh this is excellent. We have the perfect opportunity for the left to prove they aren't hypocritical little shits. Remember when they whined at Trump about using photos of the survivors, etc. to raise money? Well...

The DNC just seriously exploited the Parkland shooting and a student — here’s what they did

"MSD senior Sara Imam wrote a fundraising email blast for the DNC on Friday using the shooting to urge Americans to support Democrats in the 2018 midterm elections.

“If you’re with me and other Stoneman Douglas survivors, add your name to commit to vote this fall — it’s the only way we’ll do something about gun violence in our country,” Imam wrote, according to the Daily Caller.

“It’s time to elect Democrats who will take action on gun violence prevention — and today I am asking for your help,” she wrote.

Recipients of the email were encouraged to sign a petition pledging to vote for Democrats in the midterms, but according to the Daily Caller, the pledge sought personal information from each signer, including name, address, email address, phone number, among other information.

Afterward, the petition directed signers to a donation page where they could donate to the DNC."

Show of hands, who thinks the left will be consistent about this?

Yes, it's just a meme. What are your thoughts on the democrats doing the same thing they whined at Trump over?

Anyways, joke time: Planned Parenthood and the NRA. One of these groups love selling arms...and the other loves the 2nd amendment. Zing!

😆 Brutal joke. Love it.

As for your point, I don't remember the other example you're referring to. Refresh my memory.

Heh.

But yeah it was stuff like this:

I think trumps being a real pansy caving to the demands of the left. Wanting to raise the age to buy a rifle to 21 and banning bump stocks

Cheers.

First I'd say they're not really comparable and both have issues I take exception to. The Sara Imam one. She is entitled to have an opinion and raise money for a political party if she wishes. She doesn't have the right to speak for others as she claims she is doing unless they have nominated her to. The Trump one is a bit more complicated. If the family in the photo have said they'd like to help with the campaign that's fine but the photographer does have copyright over the picture and can technically use it however they want regardless of the permission from the family. The later would be a pretty shitty thing to do. I also imagine the donation button is on every page of the website and every email regardless of the content of the page as standard and so someone complaining they are using survivors to ask for money is a bit misleading.

Looks like that shooting at Central Michigan involved a student killing his own parents: https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/police-respond-shots-fired-central-michigan-university-145231380.html

How unfortunate. Too bad the murderer's weapon wasn't an assault weapons so it could go along with the narrative.

It was a BoB shooting so it can get ignored.

By everyone.

And you're aware that a phone is comparatively smaller than an assault rifle so incorporating a "built in" computer & power source is no big deal, right?

You aware that as of now, it appears to be $250 dollars and not reliable, right?

I'm sure if one inventor was adding one on to a phone for the first time it would be more expensive and less reliable than when a major manufacturer eventually adopted it.

Find me one that is less expensive and is actually reliable.

She's entitled to do as she wishes, but the fact the democrats allowed it to happen is the hypocrisy.

I don't even know which student this is, I know her name, but I'm not sure what she has said in the past on CNN etc. I only bring that up because some of these teens have spread either lies or misleading information. So if she was one of them that makes it even worse.

Speaking of CNN they claim to be fair and balanced, but I don't recall seeing them talk to any of the pro gun Parkland students.

Well yeah, it wasn't a white guy so it doesn't fit the narrative.

Shots were fired in front of the WH today.

Law enforcement: Man shot himself outside White House

maybe it is inappropriate for me to point out how we keep seeing men do these shootings? this links in well with the feminist argument that men are damaged by the patriarchy because of social norms which drive them to depression. maybe the bigger question here is about the state of are society and how we treat the mentally ill. however it is clear that we must get rid of these weapons. at least from the mentally ill who are too irresponsible. but there is a bigger question here about the nature of these attackers and what drove them to their condition.
