He was overconfident and won the duel. He didn't finish his prey and got caught off guard. For ****s sake we knew he couldn't kill Kenobi due to ANH. I've always explained the reasons why.

I always look at the specific circumstances of every duel. That's the key to objective debating, sport.

It does say Palps was feigning weakness during Lightning clash. Anakin was there throughout the Lightning clash.

The novel says Palps Lightning was overpowering Mace’s Lightsaber blade.

Those are just the facts. There’s no If’s or But’s there. The speculation bit comes in at who would have won the Lightning clash had Palpatine not feigned weakness.

Movie = highest canon

Palps did not overpower Mace with Force Lightning.

There is no debate. Mace defeated and could have killed Palpatine.

Count Dooku made it clear in AOTC that there is a difference between a fight of Sabers and a fight of just Force powers.

Im not arguing movies are the highest Canon. But you don’t just look at Rey flooring Luke and say “movie is the highest Canon”. Context matters.

We can just see for ourselves Palpatine was feigning weakness during the Force lighting scene. That’s not some hidden thing that only the commentary or novels will tell you.

Yes Windu could have killed Palpatine after he disarmed him (assuming Palpatine didn’t have his 2nd Saber on him). I’m not denying that. What I’m denying is it’s a fact that Sidious couldn’t have won the Force Lightning clash if he wasn’t feigning weakness in front of Anakin. Because Anakin Was There, and Palpatine Was Feigning Weakness, so we just don’t know.

There's a whole array of retards on the Star Wars sub forums that believe he tossed the fight. If they say something Darth Thor follows suit. Most people in this world are sheep and just fall in line.

It's painfully obvious from Palpatine's dialogue when he switches from you will die to a helpless victim begging for aid that he realized his powers weren't enough to defeat Windu hence the change in tactics. Play the victim and appeal to Anakin for help him since he obviously needed it.
