The Boys did a great job of depicting how even (seemingly) good superheroes can be functionally terrifying for the average person. The Boys did what Batman vs Superman only wished it could do.

Started reading the comic, seems the Deep is far different than just physical-appearances, not getting he's the useless comic relief vibe like he was in the show.

He's definitely not as much of a needlessly cruel and unhinged psycho like in the comic, but in the show at the moment he seems to have much more agency over his actions, as opposed to being gaslighted into insanity by dadudemo- I mean Black Noir.

Even before that, he killed everyone on a plane for no reason in the Herogasm tie in.
