Well I didn't open Pandoras box. Neither did you. We both know which group started this shit. Started this trend of outrage and trying to ruin careers, the trend of using shit people said in the past to try to ruin them in the present. And from what I've seen...since Gunn was fired no lesson has actually been learned. Baffling, isn't it? This trend of being unable to learn. Trump wins the election, no lesson is learned. The left has their own shitlord tactics turned against them and when they don't like it? Well, why learn a lesson when they can just whine and blame the alt right?
A quote from the supreme lobster:
"And it’s not an accident that the axiomatic Western individual is someone who was unfairly nailed to a cross and tortured. It’s like, YES! RIGHT! EXACTLY! So what do you do about that? Well, I thought about that for a long time too, it’s like… Well, you don’t get together in a damn mob, because all that does is allow you to be as horrible as you can possibly imagine and suffer from none of the consequences. That’s a bad idea. So how about we don’t do that? Well, there’s a deep idea in the West too. It’s like, pick up your damn suffering and bear it! And try to be a good person so you don’t make it worse."
People can camouflage themselves against a mob and shirk all responsibility for whatever they do and this brings out the worst of them. You cannot hold a mob accountable, you cannot reason with a mob, a mob has a single minded determination and if you wind up on the other end of that you are ****ed. These people will mob up and try and ruin people's careers over disagreements, they will make themselves this ugly behemoth people are afraid of, they will go to the lengths normal human beings are decent enough to not go and demand that these institutions bend the knee to them or they will gather more people to harass them.
I don't trust mobs. I trust individuals because if an individual approaches you it's not unreasonable to assume you can expect an honest conversation in good faith that's actually a two sided dialogue. If a mob comes up to you though they aren't looking for an honest dialogue, they are looking for blood, and if you apologize to them for something stupid or capitulate to their idiotic demands they will smell the blood in the water and know that their tactic of bullying people into submission works, and they'll be back for more.
Jordan Peterson says it's no accident that the axiomatic western individual was someone who was unfairly nailed to a cross and tortured... well I say it's no accident that it ended up being a mob who did this to him. In the Bible, Pontius Pilate did not want Jesus to be executed, but the mob did, so he gave in to the mob and abdicated his moral responsibility, and then during Jesus's crucifixion people in the mob did all sorts of absolutely reprehensible things they likely wouldn't do if they were standing alone before him standing on nothing but their own two feet rather than just another faceless person in the mob. Does this sound familiar?
I'm about sick of this bullshit. You don't capitulate to a ****ing mob. You tell them no and let them scream about it like a child throwing a tantrum until they run out of breath.
